Is anyone else excited about the Doctor Who Season Premiere tonight?

I know we are probably way late in the US and you UK folks have already seen it, but still...

A NEW DOCTOR. Always a little dicey :giggle

We are celebrating at my house. And will be watching!

And as a Bonus, it's Outlander night as well. I watch a grand total of two shows... one with my sons (Who) and one just for me (Outlander) and they are both on tonight! EEP.

Full disclosure, I've been known to watch Bones as well, but am like 2 seasons behind on that one. So there!

Let's Do This.

Oh!! I can't wait!! The new Doctor looks very intreging!! He's going to be very different than 9 and 10 at least. I haven't seen 11 - we just got BBC America again (YAY!!) and I haven't gotten that far on Netflix yet...but I suspect he'll be different than 11, too. I'm very excited!!:yesss

We are very excited here! This is our first new Doctor in real time. We've watched everything on Netflix or Amazon Prime up until now. We just got caught up and have decided to go back to the beginning with Nine and start again. I'm a little nervous about changing Doctors though. But although we loved Eleven, our favorite was Ten... so we're not as apprehensive about this change. Clara is one of my favorite companions, so I'm glad she's still around (at least for a little while longer).

well, as it goes, we watched yesterday too!!!!!

I reckon you guys started with us, same day....
and I agree with you...always a but weird for me with new doctors.....

still not 100% with Capaldi , but I'm sure by the 3rd episode I will love him

what did you all think?

OK. So I actually liked him. I love that they addressed his age and I'm sort of glad they are getting away from the sexual tension. He's thousands of years old for pete's sake, LOL.

And I like that he recognized his own face (since he's been a guest on the show before). Kind of cool.

I think I'm gonna like his quirks. I just hope he doesn't play it as dark as the critics are predicting.

Well, regardless... it's good entertainment!

yes, agree 100%
I think what made Matt Smith great to me was the humor.... but if Capaldi keeps a bit of Scottish humor then it could be amazing....
too dark....tsk tsk not for me really.... enough darkness in my life already.... :giggle

***SPOILERS***

omg, I was crying when Matt Smith DW called Clara. It feels like he finally got a proper good bye... I'm not sure about Peter Capaldi yet though, he didn't seem clever enough.

I am looking forward to this. We missed the War Doctor mini-series - is that worth downloading (with John Hurt playing the Doctor)?

My son is a massive dr who fan but is a little apprehensive about the new dr,we will see how it goes I'm sure he will grow on him

I finally watched it and I'm not sure yet. The tenth Doctor was my absolute fave and all others Doctors fall short. I think it will take some time for me to get into Capaldi's, it doesn't help that I'm not that into Clara. I may be a little critical but I still watch them all LOL

I didn't even see the 11th doctor AT ALL - this was my first exposure to Matt Smith and Clara - but I totally cried at the end! I am such a sap!! I like the new Doctor. He's very different than 9 and 10 so far (the only two I am familiar with) and I'm a total, total David Tennant girl. *swoon* And 10 and Rose - well, my absolute favorite Doctor/companion.
But, even though the new Doctor doesn't seem that remarkable yet, I remember my best friend who had never seen any Doctor Who episodes at all, but all her friends (including me, of course!!) were raving about the 'new' series so she had to start at 9. She loved 9 and when she got to 10 the first episode she couldn't stand him. She texted me and was like. I miss 9...then, a few episodes later, total 10 and Rose convert. LOL

I really liked Peter as the new Doctor but it will be interesting to see what the younger girly Whovians think of him ?

Don't you just love the Regeneration Cycle .... this describes it perfectly!

yes Amanda!!!!!!!

Did you guys liked yesterday's...
am still not too sure...
but I guess this is where Clara leaves right?
she was inside a dalek when we "met" her?
