Do you keep to do lists?

I love the idea of a bullet journal, but have never been able to keep up with one. Every couple of days, I do a brain dump and then migrate to-dos over to a list. I also use "Alexa" to keep track of shopping and some to-do list items when I am in the middle of something and can't stop to write down a to-do that pops into my head. The nice thing about Alexa is that then it is just on my phone. My to-do list is really overwhelming at this point, and it almost scares me to think about getting it all onto paper.

I like to make to-do lists and shopping lists .... and then I leave them at home when I forget all about them!

I have post-its everywhere!! I have tried to be more organized and have a list somewhere and it just never sticks with me like post-it's do (pun not intended LOL). I do have a spread sheet for CT stuff, but other than that just the little notes. It makes me happy to throw them away when I've accomplished something!

I need to figure out something! I need it big enough not to lose though.

Great topic, Sarah. I love lists and sometimes I will create one just so I can cross things out!
Also, I have been using my iPhone "reminders" app which is very easy to use with Siri. I create a list called "Trader Joe's" for instance and anytime I think of something I need from TJ's, I tell Siri "add _____ to my Trader Joe's list." It's added and the next time I go to TJ's I just pull up my list. It's great when you've got just a second to throw something on a list and you don't want to forget!

I started using a bullet journal in January and I love it! I have a very bad memory, and if I write something on scraps then lose them regularly. Now I have everything in one place that I always carry with me. For me it works great! I prefer the week view to the daily and I like to enrich it a bit with doodles, washi tape and stickers. I just thought to print some scrap elements to use in my journal! Love your blog post!

Oh yeah, on my to do list: print out pretty things for my to do list! :giggle

I think prettying things up makes my planner more useful to me. I've never kept a successful planner as long as I've kept my current one and the bullet journal works as a great sidekick for it for me. I know bullet journals aren't for everyone, and it never worked for me as a planner, but it has been a great brain dump tool for me. I have definitely had to make adjustments to the original system to make it work for me though.

I wish I could successfully keep to do lists, calendars, etc. electronically but it's just never clicked for me. I do keep certain things in Evernote if I know I'll need to access them multiple times from multiple locations (recipes are a biggie on this one, but I also used to keep series lists and the Newbery list for my daughter on Evernote). There's just something about writing stuff down with paper and pen that helps me somehow. I've been looking for a long time for planner peace and I really think I've finally found it using my decorated weekly planner combined with this more utilitarian approach. It took me a long time to get here, and I may end up having to change things up eventually (I think I get bored too easily..lol) but for now this combination is making me super happy.
