I sat down today, completely ready to get stuck into some hybrid fun with Valeria's gorgeous new summery Cut and Keep Vol 7. I was inspired, I was focused... and then my youngest DD's furry ginger menace, Bingle, decided it was time to parkour onto my craft table.

Long story short: Bingle 1, Groot figurine 0.

Poor Groot’s leg was already sitting at a tragic angle from a previous "interaction" with Master Bingle, but this time? Snap. Clean off. Gone.

Honestly, I should have seen this coming. Bingle already has a bit of a rap sheet - he recently destroyed one of my favourite plants in my craft room, scattering its remains across the floor!

After assessing the latest crime scene, I looked around my space at all the other plants and cute bits and pieces scattered around. They make my room feel like mine and really help spark my creativity when I walk in, but now I'm looking at everything like it's a future victim!

So, fellow scrappers, please tell me I’m not alone here! Do you have any pets, plants, or little figurines keeping you company while you create? More importantly... have any of yours actually survived a feline or canine demolition parkour event ? Show or tell me about your desk sidekicks!

And here is the culprit pre Groot's demise! Mister Bingle (butter wouldn't melt in my mount) and look at how sweet Val's goodies are sitting waiting to be cut and glued!

We have birds and they love to get up in our business. :lol Everything we do is very exiting. A couple of years ago I made a PL album of our Turkey trip. Got a lot of "help" with that :eyeroll These days I often use my laptop in the living room and Noco loves to help me.

Oh my goodness! That is too cute!! Your birds are adorable and I feel like they are trying to help you pick a journal card in that first photo! Noco looks like he is settling in for a nap on your keybord :giggle. This is great!

No pets here, so that's not a problem I have ever had to deal with. The closest would have been when my little children would spot me creating something and come join in demanding to have a go at doing it with me or something of their own with the same supplies. They are all artists in their own ways now so it was a blessing in the long run.

Oh, the kids absolutely count as desk buddies Angela! What a wonderful way to pass down your love for crafting—no wonder they all turned out so artistic! That is the best kind of blessing!

I no longer have any desk buddies, but I definitely used to have a couple. My youngest had his own computer set up next to mine back when I first started digital scrapbooking. So, I had company quite a bit. The cat would occasionally join me, but she really wasn't much of a climber once she got out of kitten stage. I did once have a very inspirational craft space that I miss very much, Now all my inspiration comes from within the confines of the laptop...mostly from all of you!

P.S. Bingle is a fun name; he's very cute, so I would have a hard time holding anything against him!

Bingle is so cute Amanda! Love your birds too Tine!

Lately our kitty loves to walk across my laptop keys while I’m trying to scrap lol I’ll have to try to get a picture next time!

Aw Mr. Bingle!! So cute! We'll ignore his past crimes...

I have a rambunctious aussiedoodle/goldendoodle mix, Dexter, who is always getting into everything. His favorite is to eat any object he can fit in his mouth, so it's a challenge for sure, especially since he's attached to my hip and has to be doing what I'm doing at all times. We also have 6 kitties, though one stays outside most of the time (she was a stray that adopted us). All of the kitties love to lay on whatever I'm doing - fabric and paper especially. My trick is to put something lumpy or hard on it so they don't think it's a cozy spot to rest lol. I'll put a pen holder, a water bottle, a hairbrush - anything on top of my fabric to keep them from napping there. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. My naughtiest kitty, Sugar Pie, who is 8 now, is absolutely obsessed with sticker paper. I make holographic and other glossy stickers sometimes to send out in happy mail, and Sugar Pie will do anything to get in my room so she can lick (and therefore ruin) them. She will find scraps of the sticker paper and lick obsessively - it's like some kind of drug for her lol. She is normally not allowed in my room!

I don't have any menacing creatures in my house but I'm enjoying reading everyone's stories!

my Pug dog Chester is almost always sitting next to me on the couch when I'm creating layouts on my laptop. I have a laptop desk that I can pull right up and under the couch. Love it.
