Hello lovelies

Just thought we'd put it out there... if anyone has any questions that you'd like to ask us... we're happy to answer in this private little cozy corner for M3 peeps!

Mind you.... don't make them to difficult.... we's a little :dizzy getting our squids ready for school!

(oh someone's throwing themselves a pity party :there there )

haha!

Or you don't have to ask anything, just chat with us. :flirty

xo Jules

Oh fun! :yesss Hum, how about: How do you come up with your kit/ideas? Is it a theme idea/colors/random ideas/something else? I love how some of the things look like they were cut out of a magazine or something, takes me back to my high school journals lol! :giggle

OK, first question... squids? :giggle

Ok Jules says this a lot..but since she is still asleep. LOL I am going to answer this round.

It is sorta like slang/rhymes with Squids = Kids. Our grandfather used to say lots of things like this. Like have a Captain Cook at that! Which is "Captain Cook = Look". Weird right LOL.

Here is a link to some Aussie Slang.

Don

PS. Now you are going to think us Aussies are really weird. I just had a laugh as I went down the list as this one that I actually have said.."Pass us the Dead Horse." Which of course means Tomato Sauce LOL!! You knew that right LOL.

Ooooh.... PuSticks... okay well we have a kind of random process to start with whilst we're brainstorming... but generally one of us has an idea that might been teeny to start with .... then we blow it out to a full design.

It's easy working with my Sis, coz we are both on the same page with what we like in designing and how we want our product to look and we can be completely honest and tell each other what's yuck about something she did!:smackdown and vice versa!

We're big on wanting our designs to look 'real' like something you'd have in your own visual journal.... so the cutout stuff is what we like.

And can totally relate to the high school journals... I remember covering my high school books with teen posters and collage. Ohhh the memories!

:giggle And of course Aussies are weird. Everyone is weird to everyone else! This list is hilarious. I can just imagine the look I'd give someone who asked me to pass them a dead horse!

A very important question: which of you is older? :giggle

That list of terms is... wow... it's interesting to see all the similar words but much more interesting to learn what some I've never heard of mean... I love "Kangaroos loose in the top paddock" :giggle

You know, it's really interesting how many terms had to do with male anatomy of the lower regions... I thought that a bit odd... until I realized I've heard many odd terms for that here at home too... what's our fascination with that :lmao

How long does it usually take to go from brainstorm to kit? And do you have a defined division of labor between the two of you?

Depends.... sometimes it can happen really quickly. It could be that Don's had an idea in her head or vice versa for a while but we're not ready to do that one OR we could get a color swatch and just start making stuff for it without a theme... and then the kit jumps out and tells us it's name. So how long maybe a week.

And yes we do have specific jobs.... we both work on the design together.... I do a lot of behind the scenes stuff and Don does a lot of forum stuff whilst I'm busy. We split up at the end of the kit and get our jobs done.

There are a lot there that I haven't heard of or have EVER used..but in saying that if someone did say those things I would more than likely understand. LOL.

And yeah us Aussies must walk around with our minds in the gutter constantly! Hmm wonder if you understand what I mean by that. I am sure you get my drift ;)

:giggle Yes, having your "mind in the gutter" is a phrase we use quite often over here too!

Do you scrap your personal photos often? If yes, do you use your AJ kits, create other stuff, or use other products?

How many kits do you usually make each month, and what determine a mini from a regular?

How often do you pull a pocket journal out of your pocket and flip through it? :)

Hi :)

I rarely use personal photos in my art journal pages..I tend to use a favourite element image/overlay etc. If I were to use a photo it would most likely be of me and it would be a personal page, one I most likely wouldn't share.

I use our AJ kits 99% of the time as most of the time Jules and I create an AJ kit but we never get to play or create a page with them. So sometimes we have created 3-4 products and not had a go at playing with them. So when the opportunity arises and for me personally it is only a small amount of time I tend to just go with what we have created. Quicker!

Okay this varies..but sometimes we have so many ideas for a Full Kit but often not enough time so if that is the case we still go with our ideas but make it a mini.

I would say that we would make in a good month 2 full kits with add on's if we are doing collabs our things like that. But if time prevails then it is most like 1 full kit + add on's, a mini + add on's and the other weeks maybe overlays, stamps, papers etc.

Our Full Kit's consist of 9 papers (in two sizes) and 40 elements. Our Mini Kit's consist of 4 papers and 20 elements.

Well lately Jules and I have been sooooooo busy that we haven't really had time for playing at all BUT prior to our busy schedules and family commitments it was something we were a little obsessed about! We will be starting where we left off with our Little Book of 12 series in the near future so I am guessing that I will have a few hanging from my pocket then ;)
