Deleting Direct Messages?

I was just in my dm folder this morning trying to do some cleaning up, but I don't see anywhere to click to delete old messages- am I just missing it? I have nearly decade old messages in there that I definitely don't need, and just wanted to make things tidy. Thank you for your help!

I am looking now at my messages and it seems it's called "leave", like you would leave a group chat.

Look at the top of the private message page: title of the message on the left and on the right you can see Star Mark unread Leave
When you do that you can choose whether to stop receiving messages for that or not. I think it means if the other person(s) still have that message in their inbox they could continue send you new messages in that conversation therefore you need to chose if you wan to receive them or if you want to ignore them.
If it's old I am pretty sure you are safe to choose ignore. I would do so.

I am going to try with an older message but I think it disapears from you list afterwar. Whatever your choice is...

@VinGirl What Nini said, but if you want to do more than one at a time, you can click the little boxes on the main conversations page beside Replies and Participants (as many as you want), then at the bottom where it says "choose action" select "leave direct messages" and click GO. After that it will ask you if you want to be open to future replies or not. Hope that helps

I just found out a quicker way!!!

When you look at your messages list, there is a light teal tick box you can check and at the bottom of the page you can batch "leave" all the messages you checked.

I just discovered that lol I never thought about deleting now but I do understand the need to clean up. Glad I learned something new today

Thank you so very much @ninigoesdigi & @IntenseMagic! I had seen the option to leave, but it felt a bit like hanging up on someone to me, so I hadn't done it. I am glad to have an option to help me tidy now!
