I am really excited about having a day off tomorrow! We ran all day yesterday and I have cleaned house all day today (evidently we were all big lazy slobs this past week). I have already told DS that tomorrow is mine. He is not allowed to ask me to do anything :giggle. He has several of my weekends booked in the near future for college visits, so I get this one day. I hope to scrap and catch up on scrappy things in the morning and then take some quiet time to read my book in the afternoon!

What's your favorite way to spend a day off?

I like to stay in bed as long as humanly possible. :) The best part of a day off is not waking up to an alarm! I’d love to scrap all day too but my eyes don’t allow it so scrapping then a movie break and more scrapping.

My pesky chronic back pain has really been giving me grief this weekend. I spent yesterday and today in my granny gown, either reading, scrapping, designing, or cross stitching. Oh, and the first college ball game for our team was last night. I put on Golden Girls while I was cross stitching but I've also watched a couple of older movies ~ So I Married An Axe Murderer and My Big Fat Greek Wedding.

IF, and it's a huge IF, my back cooperates tomorrow, I'd like to go to a couple of antique stores/malls. I have birthday money that's burning a hole in my pocket. If it's not cooperating, I'll be doing stuff around the house and more of the same with my granny gown as my uniform.

When I worked my day off on a holiday was spent just being lazy. Well, sometimes I scrapped. These days, a holiday is just another day. I've had to remind myself all day today that tomorrow is a holiday and there is no garbage collection so I don't put the garbage can out that will not get picked up.

It used to be just be lazy and hang out in my room scrapping, reading, crafting, and napping....
but now with my son going to school, I work a few hours a day, and with my mom here (she has been diagnosed with dementia) it's harder to do my fun things.

I'm not a bed-layer, but I do like to sleep in just a little :) But yes! Not setting an alarm is the best!!

So sorry you're having a rough weekend! Our first college game was Thursday night! Love college football season!
I hope you get to go antiquing!! That sounds so fun! There is a HUGE yearly flea market about an hour from here and I really wanted to go, but didn't want to fight the traffic.
Sometimes the granny gown is the best, but only if you want it to be, not because it's a must. Hope your back is feeling better today!!

I try to have one lazy day in the weekend, but it doesn't usually turn out that way...that's why I look forward to an extra day. Holidays throw me off for the whole week, though. I'll probably miss trash day lol

Bless you!! I hope that you do find some time to do fun things. I know that's difficult for you. My MIL had dementia. Big hugs!!

Not like today, for sure: stomach flu.

Best day off: me, the sofa, TV & yarn.
Oh yuck!! Hope you feel better quickly!!!

Our first college game was Thursday night! Love college football season!

I had 2 games on Thursday night! I watched one that was streamed online (a Div III team my cousin's son plays on) and followed live stats for the other game since I don't have ESPN3. Then the big one Saturday night. All 3 teams won but the Saturday night one was not looking good for a long time. No way they looked like the #2 team in the nation for the first 3 quarters!

One thing about Labor Day weekend... college football begins! I love college football! Heck, I even watched some of the FSU-LSU game last night. Wild ending on that one.

Read on my porch. House project. Scrapbook. Maybe work on a puzzle. Hiking.

I did a little bit of each of those throughout the weekend, but not a whole day. Little bits of relaxation mixed in with chores.

How did ‘Bama do?

We tend to watch movies and stay in bed with the cats. I really needed to clean but I was wiped out, so we started a Thor marathon. And are currently doing a pirates marathon. That lead into discussions of whether or not Loki and Jack Sparrow are actually “good” people. We are weird

If I have a day off coming up, I do the same thing and get all the chores and cleaning done ahead of time so I can actually enjoy my day off. The other thing that helps me have a productive day off is if my hubby has plans to go fishing, so I don't feel guilty about spending the day at home doing whatever crafty endeavor I want to do. :giggle It usually depends on my mood too. Sometimes I'll want to read, sometimes I want to scrap and sometimes I want to paint or do art journaling. Then in the evening watching TV while crocheting. :agree

I do some chores, read, and sit out back. Mainly read. Unless I make plans or lunch dates with friends. Usually my Fridays consist of errands, reading and chilling.

How did ‘Bama do?

55 - 0

BUT it was a cupcake game . . . will be interested to see how they perform against ranked opponents.
