Hahaha - I grew up with "Dad jokes" but of course they weren't labeled then. My dad was the pun and silly joke king. My family refers to these kinds of jokes as "Malcolm Jokes". (My Dad's name.)

Growing up my mom was the jokester. She would find silly jokes and stories in the readers digest and tell them to us.

Then you grew up with those jokes too. After we got transferred to Michigan, Dad still called long distance, to tell us a new joke he'd heard. My youngest DD was just like him and she used to call Grampie and tell him jokes. too.

One of my favorites of his was "Do you know why the world leaders pass around a wheel of Gouda Cheese at the end of a successful negotiation?" No, Dad, why??? "Because cheese is binding." Then he'd lose his composure and start laughing. He was a funny guy.

My hubby is the ultimate at puns. Sometimes it drives me crazy because it seems like every other thing out of his mouth is a dad joke or a pun. Ha!
