CS2 and a PC

At least I tried. I’m on vacation in San Diego, 3000 miles away from my iMac. I didn’t want to spend a lot of time scrapping on my vacation, but I check in on my phone to at least read and think about the MOC challenges. And my husband had his laptop with him because this is also a business trip for him, so I thought I could scrap a page or 2 to be less behind when I come home. I got a 124Gb flash drive and brought along some of my TLP stash and photos. My husband has Photoshop CS2 on his laptop.

But his laptop is a PC. And there are a lot of changes between CS2 and CC! Then I realized I forgot to bring my shadow styles and would have had to figure out how to install them anyway, and didn’t want to try to figure out how to make them, so that was the last straw.

I will be scrapping more than one layout each day until I get back so I can catch up. :run

well the best laid plans dont always work out but i survived on CS 2 for a long time - that said i never had a Mac so i wasn't switching systems... are you trying to do dispersion on it?

Oh, CS2 and CC are definitely different. There's no reason to spend time figuring out on a PC what you can easily do on your Mac. But like you, I'd want to at least try to scrap something to stay as current as possible with MOC.

Maybe you could lay out your pages, so as much can be done as possible? No shadows, sure, but photo and element placement? Then you could open your psd files (or tiff, or however you save them lol) in CC at home, and do those final tweaks like shadows. Just a suggestion. :) No matter what, enjoy your vacation! I hope you've got great weather. It's currently about 3 degrees where I live out here in the East!

True! I’m not terribly disappointed. At least I can still be in touch daily and think about the challenges. So they will be familiar when I get back to my computer. I’ll have LOTS of time to think about them on the long boring flights home. You know how the trip home is always so much longer than the trip away?

No way, I’m not trying dispersion until I get home. I was working on the people-less photo, with great gratitude for such an easy challenge. I had to trouble simply getting my image into my document. I went from PSE to PSCC in 2015 so Inever learned the mechanics of the older versions. Plus, I haven’t used PC’s in 6 years.

I did consider making sort of rough drafts. But I’d really like to have all my usual routine available, including Lightroom, where I do my photo organizing and editing.

The weather is fabulous in San Diego, around 70. We escaped the storm and single digit temps in Virginia just in time!

I scrapped with CS2 for a long time and now I've been on CS5 for 9 years! I'll probably freak out if I ever have to upgrade or change my program. Lol! I feel ya on the PC vs. Mac too. I scrap usually one weekend a month with my friend who uses a Mac and I'm on a PC. Everytime I try to teach her something new, we have a little translation issue for what her shortcuts are. :giggle We usually get there in the end.

I think you can have cross platforms with CC, but it takes a while to load and you don't want to overload your husband's work laptop with all that memory hogging. I scrapped with CS3 for years.. I have PSE15 for that reason in addition to my having CC in case I am somewhere away from the internet, I can still scrap on my laptop. I am glad though that you are able to check things out and get ideas started so you can knock out some pages upon return!

Or maybe she does! :compcoffee hmmm:lol. What's more important work or scrapping? :D:gotcha

I'm totally kidding! I could just see the conversation:
Him: my laptop is running too slow to do my work.
Her: But I need to scrap! It's MOC!
Deal with it. :lmao
For some reason this idea totally tickled my funny bone. I agree with you though Christa! It's not worth the effort to add CC.
