I finally just broke down and purchased this book because my library didn't have it and of course, just after I bought it, they got the book. Grr... So, who else has read this one and what did you think?

I just finished and would LOVE to discuss with someone! For me, the beginning felt really slow. . . I had a bit of a hard time remembering where the 1st book left off and what was going on exactly. Overall, I did enjoy it. . . not as much as the 1st book.

Does it seem like The Rising has just as much control of the people as The Society?

I agree with you on that. I didn't find this one as enjoyable as the first one because I really liked the setting of the first one. Crossed's setting was not as compelling to me, and the relationships between the characters was just not interesting, IMHO. However, I'm still definitely interested to see how she resolved it all in the final book.

Ugh...this book was such a let down for me. I love love LOVED Matched...but this one was so boring. I didn't like how Condie used the dual narrators.....The idea of the two POV's was cool but there was nothing to really to differentiate between the words/tone of Cassia and Ky. Seriously a couple times I had to go back to remind myself who's part of the story I was reading.

I'll def. read the last book just because I don't want to leave their story unfinished...but I don't think I'll be checking Amazon on the day it releases to get it.

I gave up with it cause I just couldn't get into it and I'm with tanbanan I was trying to track back what actually happened in the first book, maybe one day ill try again

I didn't like it either and was very frustrated with where it left things off at. Cassia went through all the trouble to find Ky, they find each other, join the Rising - and are separated just like before. So what was the point of all that searching?? I think it would have been much better if they would have gone off and lived by themselves and lived happily ever after. And yes, I agree the Rising seem just as controlling and creepy as the Society. I am curious to see how the final book plays out and what part Xander will play in it.

i just realized that i haven't read this yet .. and now i'm not sure if i'm going to! LOL! i'm rereading the hunger games - again - LOL ... and then i'll probably re-read the fever series ... hahaha ... i'm ridiculous! but seriously, i keep getting bored w/ new books!

The 2 POV's bothered me too. . . I had to go back a few times to remind myself who was telling the story at that moment. And the flashbacks were a bit odd too. . .
