My dog is CA-RAYYY-ZEEEEE.

I sometimes take her running with me, which she LOVES. The downside to this is, she's gotten to where she recognizes when I'm wearing running clothes and starts going bananas.

I'm in my running gear now, but not leaving for another 30 minutes to go run, and she's already been whining at me and jumping up and down for 20. :dizzy

She's so serious about the run once we go, too. The only thing that can distract her is a squirrel. Otherwise, it's eyes forward and run! She runs right at the end of the leash for about 4 miles, then she gets tired and runs just 2 steps ahead of me. Never lets me pass her, though. lol

And she must be in front. If it's a group of people running, I have to lead, because she can't handle not being the lead runner. She doesn't mind other DOGS in front of her, but no humans.

I always hated dogs, but this one has grown on me. Except for the whining. And the peeing on the carpet. :rollingpin

Anyone else with a quirky pet?

all of my pets are insane. I have a cat that literally climbs the walls. She has made it up to the ceiling. *rollseyes* My other cat has this thing where she bites your face. It's like an "I love you" bite but it's so annoying and kinda hurts! My dog is forever going to eat trash I think. The dog will eat anything. It's disgusting and frustrating!!

My husband put a huge book on top of the trash can. Keeps her out. Not the prettiest solution, but I got QUITE sick of trash being strewn all over the kitchen.

If only it was that easy for our dog. *sigh* anything paper she will eat...plus she's big and strong so she can move and get into most anything. It really is so annoying!

Haha! My dog hates the wind so when I took her running with me the other day she kept trying to slam her head into the path. He is also completely terrified of plastic bags. She has all sorts of quirks, especially because she's a puppy still.

a cinder block? LOL
:giggle

that will be super convenienet for crystal when she need to throw things away. hahhahahaha

although since the kids probably couldn't use the trash can anymore, maybe shila can skip that and eat it right off the floor...

OHMYGOSH shannon i am cracking up at that visual of your dog trying to duck the wind!! :rofl

we only have one pet... a cat. and she is a super sweet kitty. but she has some MAJOR "quirks". her #1 most annoying thing is that (poor thing) she only has 6 teeth left in her mouth... we got her from a rescue. she's old. she got a gum disease. she has no teeth. and since they don't make kitty dentures, she can't eat her food very well. so she is forever throwing up undigested food (pate caneed food... barf) all over. we have finally gotten her trained to go into a bathroom or the basement when she starts to get sick... hard floors there, easier to clean up. *lol*

she also likes to wrestle and play bite with sock feet. any foot with a sock on it is fair game. also with the socks, she will steal folded socks out of drawers or laundry baskets if they're not put away, and she'll carry them / bat them all around the house like a favorite toy. so weird.

Our horse is whiney when not fed on time. We feed him (DH feeds him) at 5am and 5 pm. If your late you can hear him. I say he is spoiled.lol

My dog is crazy, too! She is a tiny little pug but she thinks she's a rotweiller! She has no fear of bigger dogs and whenever we're out - no matter how many Dog Whisperer techniques I try - she picks fights with other dogs and emits the most annoying, ear-splitting whine you've ever heard! She will also bark out the window at anything that passes by - including an empty bag of potato chips.

Then she has all these weird phobias. She can run up and down the stairs all day, but every now and then she gets scared of them and won't come back down. She hides her toys in my bedroom. If I really want to annoy her, I throw her toys off the left side of my bed - she won't jump off that side even though she has no problem jumping on and off the right side.

Also, one of her favorite snacks - used tissues! Gross! Good thing she's cute! :)

Our reindeer chihuahua is a spoiled brat. He gets mad if I do not lay down to read or watch tv early enough because he wants to come lay by me...He loves to eat trash.

My dog insists on going to bed (crate) at 9. No later. She can't get to it unless we open the door, so she sits there and whines until we let her in it. LOL

Our puppy (a cavapoo) follows me wherever I go. I am his person. He would go into the bathroom with me if I let him. If I leave him behind the gate we have in our family room and run off to another part of the house, he lays down and waits for me. If I don't come back soon and he can see me he starts to cry a bit. It can drive me crazy but I have to say it's nice to have someone so completely devoted to me, too. LOL

He does not eat trash, so that is good! I wish he would go running with me, but that would never happen. When we're out for walks he has to check everything out and stops all the time. He is so easily distracted outside.

My dog is TOTALLY FOCUSED on the run. She doesn't even want to stop to go to the bathroom. She holds it so long she almost makes herself sick. She's so weird.

Roxy has a ton of little quirks - her oddest one is she likes to be covered up when she sleeps. After dinner, she'll sit in front of her bed until you get a blanket out and hold it up for her to walk under. She curls up in her bed, and you're supposed to lay the blanket on top of her. After a bit, she'll sit up under the blanket, and we have to uncover her head. Then she'll sleep a while, and then crawl out from under the blanket. A few minutes later she'll sit by her bed and the whole process starts all over again.

My cats are all terrified of the litter box. We've tried bigger, smaller, closed in, open, different litter, more than one, and it's been all over the house. They won't go near it, and if you put it in the same room they are they do the whole puff up, bounce sideways and hiss thing. So, the bathtub gets several cleanings of Comet and Awesome every day.
Chunk also lives on top of the fridge. There's a little box on top of it that she spends insane amounts of time in, and she won't eat unless her food bowl is up there. She comes down for maybe 15 minutes a day for potty breaks and some lovey rubs.

Our beagle Nox is just a crybaby. If he's not actually touching someone constantly he just walks and cries. He sits in the back of the shower with you. He sleeps beside me, on his back, nose tucked under my neck, snoring. He does a great impression of a car alarm when he gets to baying, which is funny for about 45 seconds, but when he gets to going it goes on for a good hour. He also won't eat unless he's hand fed.

And all of them break into the fridge and cabinets. We've got a 5lb paint bucket sitting in front of the fridge right now. Someone forgot to put it back in front of the door last night and we lost a pack of ham, bacon, and some pizza to the little turds. Cabinets are closed with rubberbands and strings, the cats have been known to demolish loaves of bread, boxes of rice, pancake mix, anything.

It is, except she does it all night too. I haven't had 8 uninterrupted hours of sleep in almost 7 years!

Oh no! I guess she gets hot and needs to cool down a bit before wanting to get back under? Have you tried a cozy cave type bed? I wonder if that would work for her.

Holy cow, that would be awful Whit! I can't imagine a cat scared of the litterbox...wonder why? You are very patient with them, that's gotta be hard!
