Is there anyone here suffering that crazy lake snow effect of up to 51 inches of snow? If you are anywhere around, keep warm and stay safe.

51 inches of snow? flipping heck that would bring our whole country to a grinding halt with the flow on effect... if you have to endure this I hope you are keeping warm...

51!? South Bend has gotten like a foot, but no where near 51 inches! We thought we got a ton last year when our total was 108"! :)

oh wow!! We may get two inches max tomorrow, which is fine with me as I am not ready to start shovelling but it was c-c-cold today.

I'm settling for two inches of dust in our house. With our drought, we sure could use some of that snow!

buffalo NY. just missed it travelling from Rochester back to Montreal for work this week. We got about 5 inches where I live in Montreal.

51 inches? wowzers!! that is a whole lot of the white stuff!

Well, living on the edge of Lake Michigan, we get a TON of lake effect snow, but I'm happy to say that the 51" missed us! Phew! It has been super cold here and hasn't really stopped snowing a light powdery snow for days, but I don't know where it's all going because we can still see grass through the snow. It's been really windy too, so I guess it's just blowing away!

My oldest was supposed to have an away game in South Bend last night and they canceled it before school in the morning, so I didn't have to drive there.

My son goes to school in Plainwell, MI (not far from the coast of Lake Michigan) - plenty of Lake Effect Snow there. Not sure how much, but I know it is far more than we have in the middle of the mitten... but far, far less than Buffalo, NY!

An inch of snow is enough to make problems on the roads and stop the trains here, I have no idea what four foot would do!

we haven't gotten any real snow yet here in boston (a light dusting the other night - but melted as soon as the snow came out .. ) - i was looking at pictures of buffalo - wow!

Well, I have been digging out. We are in the hardest hit area of western NY. By tomorrow we could have 7 feet. We have 5 and half feet already. Everything is closed. Thank God I had the foresight to stock up on Monday before it got really bad. We have been snowed in for three days now.

Oh my goodness.. Ama.. keep us posted on how you are doing. I'm in NH and we had a very light dusting last week but other than that we still see grass. Keep warm!

Luckily, we are used to mega snowstorms. But I have to say, in my 32 years, I have never seen anything like this. I have been taking a lot of pics. Good thing I have some great snowy kits in my scrap stash. Ha!

Oh wow Ama! I'm so glad you're well stocked. My hubby would be so excited to swap places with you. He loves snow and the higher the piles the better! I'd love to see some of your pictures.

I heard you guys are going to get up to 3 more feet over the next few days. Yikes! Stay safe!

Oh my goodness, Ama! Stay safe + warm. I was looking at pictures of Buffalo with my kids this morning...that's just a crazy amount of snow.

In other words, Laura, feel bad for me and release DYD early so I can shop while I still have power! Ha!

Our back deck. The snow is halfway up the umbrella on the patio table. Snow is way over my head. Feel like we are living in an igloo.
