Do you get food/sweets cravings? Do you get them on a regular basis... or have you noticed that you get certain cravings at certain times of the year?

If it wasn't for Project Life, I don't think I would have given it much thought, but I realized that I apparently always have a craving for the little individually-wrapped Reese's peanut butter cups every February/March. It is crazy.

What about you?

I have gotten so I eat certain foods on certain days. For ex: most Sunday nights I have popcorn. So I will crave it even if I am not hungry if it is Sunday.

Certainly crave things like hot and hearty soups during the winter and raw, fresh, cool veggies during the summer.

I always want some type of chocolate, but the type of chocolate may change. Fpr example, I want the Reeses "eggs" around Easter. :) My mom even mailed me some this year lol in a little Easter basket package for us. And in winter I want hot cocoa. In fact I want some right now cuz it's COLD here today and supposed to get colder. (Ugh, I'm worried about my tulips and allium!)
My thing is food jags: I'll crave a certain meal for breakfast, like Cinnamon Toast Crunch, every day for maybe a month or two--and yes I realize that's a "kid cereal," but tell that to my craving! lol. In the winter it tends to be maple and brown sugar oatmeal. I hide it from the kids cuz I don't want to share! DH thinks it's weird lol but I think it's weird that he literally can't pass by any type of food without eating it. If I'm not hungry, I don't think about the kitchen/food, where he'll eat anything he sees--including, last week, a mini bag of chips DD had left open on the counter. Oooooh, she was mad! Anyway, back to the topic at hand lol, I'll want that food and that food only, and then, BAM, I'm over it. For awhile in college, all I wanted for lunch was chili cheese fries. Not at all healthy but gosh darn that's what I wanted! Of course I didn't eat them every day, so then I was cranky during lunch lol cuz I wasn't eating what I wanted. But I would have gained 15lbs if I'd eaten that--and ONLY that--for lunch. At least I'm not too far gone to realize that. ;)

This is me exactly. I'll go along all fine and good, and suddenly I have a weird food jag where I'll only want fish and chips. Not really the fries... just the fish. Or Swiss cheese sandwiches. Or poached eggs. Or licorice. And then I'm done with those foods for awhile after eating them for a couple of weeks. But then I noticed that not only do I have those streaks, but they appear to be cyclical too. LOL. My husband thinks I'm a freak. He is much like your husband and will eat anything and everything. But he can't stand to have the same thing within the same week (or two).

The struggle is real in our house. LOL.

Due to my extremely restrictive diet for health reasons I crave two things ALL OF THE TIME (sorry for yelling there :giggle):

1) an Egg McMuffin. (I cannot eat anything of it. Sigh.)
2) a McDonald's hamburger. (I can only eat the pickles, mustard and ketchup.)

Egg McMuffin's were my go-to breakfast food. I didn't eat them often, but when I did... heaven.
And I don't quite understand the hamburger, because there are more decadent things that I should crave. But I do crave them. Maybe it's the salty/savory part along with the bread. I don't know.

And I crave chocolate, but even though that's on the no-no list I do eat it now and then. heh heh :wave

I learned long ago when I had finally lost a lot of weight to eat the foods I'm craving. I'd have a few bites and I'd be fine. If I didn't eat the craving, I'd eat everything else under the sun and still crave it. Go figure.

Since we gave up sugar, I do crave sweets more, but so far a bit of honey in some tea seems to be fixing that. We try not to eat too much meat as well, and I definitely crave steak and juicy burgers. Alas..

sometimes I get a really strong craving for weird things, like...

warm pita w/ cucumber and hummus

or

Kraft mac n cheese

or waffle fries w/ cheese melted on them

Peeps & jellybeans this time of the year.....usually. But I only ate 2 of my kids jellybeans, and I didn't eat a single Peep. Trying to work my away from sugar cravings...once I get started I don't stop.

I'm also a sucker for candy corn in the fall.

It changes all the time. When I do have them, no matter what it is, I really make an effort to feed the craving... otherwise, if I deny myself or make myself wait too long, I will go overboard. I can easily have a couple of something, and stop. But if I ignore my craving, then when I get the change the whole thing - box, bag, however packaged - will be gone! Plus, I'm a weirdo, if a package of something is open, I have to finish it before I can open something else that I want. I know, a bit odd. I think that is the only restriction that I have. This way I don't eat ALL the cravings! :)

Currently, I'm craving salt and pepper nuts, filled twizzlers and the Thin Mint Oreos (OMGoodess they are YUMMY!).

Um... not all those at the same time. :giggle.

Lately It Has Been Moose Track Ice Cream And I Have Been So Good About Not Buying It! 2x's in the last week I went through the DQ drive through to get a small chocolate cone..... that way I have 'it' but not the amount of calories or fat that in the Moose Track Ice Cream................

we've been having a baked potato streak at our house lately too! And yes... have to have bacon bits! :)

Nope, usually no cravings but @QuiltyMom that McDonald's hamburger sounds really good right now...I haven't had one of those in years. My husband and both daughters are chocoholics but I go the salty route, (think Cheetos).

@Tree City there's a Penguins of Madagascar cereal. It's basically Cocoa Pebbles with marshmallows. I don't know what evil genius thought of this. It is so good!

Love salty foods - some days I think it would be best if I just poured some salt into my hand and licked it off. It should would be a lot less carbs! Although I have been known to sprinkle a bunch of salt on cucumber slices or carrots and "pretend" I am eating chips....

Oooh, I love salted and peppered cucumber slices!

ohhh I get cravings- all the time- but yes, I suppose there are times of the year in which some things are stronger than other..... I think is to do with advertising....
my latest is burgers & popcorn (not necessarily together LOL)

I can not tell you how excited this makes me. I have to go shopping tomorrow so I guess a quick stop for "Penguins" cereal has been added to my errand list! :circles
