connor needs some "it gets better" or.. "hang in there" words of encouragement..

Agree with all advice here. La, I have an air-conditioned house, I'm a teacher and I'm less than an hour from you. If'n you guys need a change of scenery, a cool down and a pep talk, give me a private message holler and come on up here. I just finished my last duties at school so I'm officially off and have some extra time. Seriously. Either way, there's lots of great advice on this thread. Good luck!

Since my way of getting my boys to even attempt to do any homework is by yelling and such I'm not much help. Give me a dozen 2-3 year olds and I'm good, give me my boys plus homework - nuh uh, world war 3.

La...this won't help with all of it, but along the lines of bribery we've been using this bingo chart for reading this summer.

It's a free printable and it is working wonders. L.J. likes to read, but needs a little incentive sometimes. We're a couple weeks into it and he's already earned 3 bingo coupons. The coupons are blank so you can make up your own prizes.

I have no advice either as I haven't reached that stage yet so all I can say is hang in there kiddo

You've got some great advice here...small manageable chunks, rewards etc.

PS- Don't tell him, but that pile of homework bites!

thanks girlies <3 and liana we def need to get together this summer <3

we're still feeling pretty overwhelmed :p ce is at the ymca camp this week & then he's switching to a different free camp for the rest of the summer (one that he actually wants to go to hahah). I totally just put the school stuff aside this week while he gets through camp (he hates it) and we'll re-tackle it next week when he's not glaring at me anymore. tiny bites. tiny bites!
