I was talking to a gaming buddy last night and she said to me, "Wave (my gaming name) you are awesome. Never let yourself believe otherwise. =) Just saying." It made me feel really good and then she told me I should write it down and any other compliments I get in a journal to keep for times that I am feeling down.

What a fantastic idea, right? It is so often that we remember all the bad things people have said to us. I would much rather do this!!

I like this too, my fv friends say nice things to me in chat and i feel good for a sec, then i forget it and go back to negative self talk.

any ideas on where to go with your thoughts, on a layout ? journal cards?
or real life notes

A. your friend sounds like a keeper
B. What a awesome idea to jot down compliments in a journal! :)

Cath... I have started my list in a spiral notebook but your idea to use journal cards is actually pretty awesome too. Can you imagine a pocket page journal that is all pretty AND has sweet words?

This is a great idea. I kept the positive notes I got from my students' parents so when I felt discouraged I would reread them -- always makes you want to continue on.

Just an additional note: If you have a teacher you appreciate, send an unexpected note -- you have NO IDEA how much it means. Teaching is HARD and sometimes you wonder if anyone appreciates the dedication you are giving to your students (it is WAY more than you can imagine). Just saying.... Hmm...can you tell I'm a retired teacher.

I got a complement today with 5 emotions icons following, i saved to word document. Gonna start paying attention

this applies, I think, to every person/worker you interact with..... when I was doing advocacy & interpreting for the NHS at the Univestity College of Lonodn hospitals, sometimes people would leave cards or even more, send a letter to the management complimenting my work.....that is the best way to keep someone doing their jobs with their hearts...
and I think all over the world, where nurses & teachers are not payed what they should...a note of praise can go a long way indeed :)

I get a lot of pms from people thanking for comments, GSOs & other stuff .... I have to admit that a few times I took screen shots of them.....and a nice compliment on a LO can really go a long way when you are feeling low.
I may start making a mini book of journal cards, great idea :)
