Yesterday, I was very saddened to learn of the death of actor James Van Der Beek, who played Dawson in the series Dawson's Creek.
As a teenager, I loved watching this series. And I still enjoy watching it today. It's what I call a "comfort blanket" series, a series that makes me feel good.As a teenager, I loved watching this series. And even today, I still enjoy watching it. It's what I call a "comfort" series, a series that brings comfort when things aren't going well.
Do you have a "comfort" series?

I love When Calls the Heart. They only release 12 episodes per year though and I can only rewatch it so many times before needing to find something else. Sorry for the loss of the actor. He seems so young. It saddens us even if we don't really know them.

me too.. I just finished re watching Dawson's Creek, 2 weeks ago.

another comfort series is Gilmore Girls.

I also love When Calls the Heart, Virgin River (read books too) , Sullivan's Crossing (read books too), and The Way Home... of course I also LOVE Outlander and Downton Abbey, but comfort series for me was Dawson's Creek and Gilmore Girls for sure.

So sad about James Van Der Beek.. He fought a good fight and just like Chadwick Boseman, way way too young from this horrid disease.

I was so sad to see of his passing too. He was way too young. :( I did watch that show too when it was on TV.

My comfort series was The Office during Covid when I couldn't get my mind off everything going on. The Office was the only show that I could watch and focus on and it made me laugh.

The ones that come to mind for me are Full House, Modern Family & The Office but I don’t really watch TV any more. I was also obsessed with Project Runway when I first got married.

I have always loved The Office, Parks & Rec, Schitt's Creek, and The Good Place for making me laugh or smile. Also, one of my favorite just feel good shows is Queer Eye. Those are the things I watch when I need a break from the heaviness.

All Creatures Great & Small is basically my comfort blanket these days. Mrs. H with her home-baked scones, and the golden retrievers, and the Yorkshire landscape
