I enjoy funny people. Especially ones who can be clean, and it's not all about current events.
Some of my favorites have been Jim Gaffigan and Brian Regan. The clean part tends to take a lot of comedians out of the running. DH and I watched "Last Comic Standing" first season, and while we enjoyed it, too many of the comics were really vulgar after the show. But, my YouTube habit has introduced me to another one! Michael McIntyre. He's British, and must have some show called Michael McIntyre's Big Show. The part I stumbled onto is called "Send To All". Oh my gosh! It cracks me up! He sends a text message to everyone in the contacts, and then reads the responses! Before he reads them, he has the person explain how they know the person. Jamie Oliver, pretty famous for being a healthy chef, had a text go out about getting him a McDonald's order. It cracked me up!

And you? Do you like comedians? Do you have good ones to share?

And PS: Apparently across the pond texts are a lot more formal!

He is one of my favourites too. His take on children and getting ready to leave the house. Wow. So relatable.
Nevermind the way Americans need extra words to explain good old English. Like Horseback riding vs horse riding and eye glasses vs glasses. We tend to speak a more British English so that cracked us up this side of the pond too!

As a USAmerican, I want to look this up! Mostly because I've never heard someone say "eye glasses" in everyday conversation. They're just "glasses." So I want to know what else this Brit has heard people here say. :) I love differences in languages!

Oh, sorry Courtney @bestcee I forgot to answer your OP and say that we like Jim Gaffigan too! DD and I listened to both of his books and just yesterday we started watching his King Baby special on Netflix instant. And she doesn't really do standup anymore, but I really like Ellen DeGeneres. She cracked me up and was pretty clean.

If you have Pandora, they have comedy on it. My dad is actually the one who told me that cuz he has a station of (mostly) family-friendly comedians and then one that's NOT family-friendly. Anyway, maybe you could find some new favorites that way!

I love comedians. But I like both dirty and clean. I appreciate the joke whichever way they wanna give it to me. It's like art, I believe expression is best serve "honest" to that person. So if they curse, and it's funny, I like it and if they don't and it's funny I like that too!!

I love Jim G. His routines are hilarious. I'll have to check out the guy you suggested.

We love watching stand up comedy but like to watch clean comedy as well...which is harder to find. We like Jim Gaffigan. My hubby usually finds the comedians. I'll have to tell him about Brian Reagan and Michael McIntyre. I don't think we've ever watched either of those. Two Christian comedians that we like are Tim Hawkins and Michael Jr. We recently found someone new that we like, but I can't remember his name. I'll have to ask my hubby.

Yes, clean takes a lot of comics out of our running as well. Our family loves Tim Hawkins. We have all his videos and we watch them together on family nights where we just want to laugh. I also just stumbles across a guy called Michael Jr. so I am in the process of looking up youtube videos of him. My husband and I have watched a few like this one of this guys Jerry Dee on teaching. I don't think all of his are clean though. We've only seen a few of them.

@bestcee OMG....that was fabulous! I love Jamie Oliver so really loved this video LOL. It was hysterical hearing all the responses to his messages LOL. This just made my day....too funny!

I'm still laughing about it and now can't even think of what comedians I like. All I can picture is Jamie's wife heating up the stew and all these people coming over with nuggets LOL.

I've never understood why comedians should be vulgar. They're to make us laugh, not be disgusted or make horrible fun of someone else. That's why I've never paid attention to them. The last comedian I followed was Steven Wright. He always makes me crack up! I do love Steve Martin - when he's being clean.

But I like both dirty and clean. I appreciate the joke whichever way they wanna give it to me.
I don't mind some dirty, especially if it's British, because swear words don't sound the same with that accent! :giggle
I don't like comics who every other word is F$#_.
And for TLP, better to keep it safe for work! :agree

Sweet! I'll have to see if I can get that channel!

Brian Regan is hilarious!!! I watched all of his videos coming home from a day trip last year and had to have hubby find a place to pull over so I could the restroom. Jo Koy is pretty funny too.

I know he's not very well like nowadays, but I still love the Bill Cosby Himself...I don't which part I laugh at the hardest, the dentist, the kids eating chocolate cake, the kids they have the brain damage...it's just all funny!!

Hubby took me to see Jeff Ross at the Tempe Improv and I wasn't amused by him...I don't recall why, I just know I didn't laugh. I also don't like Amy Schumer, hubby tried watching her on Netflix and turned it off...she's disgusting!!

I don't mind some vulgarity, but I agree, so many think they have to and then take it to the extreme.

I love love love Michael McIntyre.

There's one of his experience in the gym changing room/showers and I laughed so hard I almost got sick. I went through every video I could find and I have enjoyed it all, even some of them that aren't the cleanest.

Love Jim Gaffigan...and I just watch Gabriel Iglesias yesterday...I think he's pretty clean, at least I don't remember him being very vulgar.

That's what my husband watches before bed: comedians on Youtube.

My favorite is Mike Birbiglia. I can't account for how clean or dirty he is because I don't remember. :)
