Ohmygoodness... that prize is AMAZING!!! I can't wait to see what everyone does with this. :)

I, too, immediately thought of "Whistler's Mother" when I saw the photo, but I came up with a different slant, weaving some facts (including a copy of Whistler's actual signature) into my story. It has been alleged that some (or all three) of the Lindgren women (they really were neighbors) may have posed for the painting. Whistler was said to be particularly captivated by Helena's hands.

Here is mine! This was so much fun! I used your fabulous new Room 19 - One!

Journaling reads:
Bronte sisters plus One!
Everybody talks about the Bronte sisters, Charlotte, Emily and Anne but no-one mentions the other one ... Maude! Maude Bronte was NOT as famous as her literary sisters in fact her only claim to fame was the ability to write naughty limericks all based on personal experience! I guess that explains her rather smug expression in this photo and the fact that the other sisters are all looking at her with a wary eye in case she says something inappropriate for a Bronte again!

Not much "bull" to my story, but I thought of Little Women when I saw the photo.

I LOVE everyone's pages... it's so exciting to see where everyone goes with a single image!!!! I think that's why I love this challenge so much.... you're reading the stories and searching the pages for the hints along the way!!

Here is my page for this fun challenge!

Journaling reads:
Don't you sometimes wonder just what was going through a person's mind as they were having their photos taken...........

Lady Mary, seated on the left:
"I do wish this person would hurry up and take this photo. I have a luncheon to attend and I do need to arrive before Mrs Roberts takes my seat again!"

Madeline, seated on the right, looking away:
"I do not want this photo taken! How dreary it is to have to sit here with my mother and sisters in this silly dress! I would much rather be reding my latest romance!"

Suanne, standing on the right:
"I will scowl if I want to! Why do we need to have to have these horrid photos taken I will never know, none of us enjoy it. Just look at us! I would much rather be visiting with my friend Dorothy and hearing the latest gossip!"

Daisy, on the left at the back:
"I think the photographer's assistant is quite handsome. He has such striking features and I do believe he is smiling at me more than he really needs to! I wish we could stay and have some photos taken.... who knows where this smiling will lead to!"

I also thought of whistler's mother when I saw the photo so I still went with it.

Here is mine. After looking at the others, I see lots of torn photos in the other stories -- great minds think alike....
