Happy Halloween to everyone! I hope that everyone is enjoying the Halloween Bash 2023 edition and taking advantage of the great sales, and participating in the awesome challenges and games that are going on this weekend! I am here bringing you the Costume Recipe Challenge!
I absolutely love this challenge, and look forward to hosting it every year. It gets a bit more difficult every year to come up with some different costumes, so this year I went with some popular movies of 2023.
Choose a Costume below to create your layout. You must have the items on the list to count, but you can also add anything else you want to finish it off to your liking!
Costume #1: Barbie
Of course I had to go with Barbie, it was only the major blockbuster of the year! Now I admit, I haven't seen it (I know, I'm like the only one), so I had to go with my daughter's advice.
1. Pink and lots of it!! You must have layers of pink (think papers, flowers, etc...) the more, the better!!
2. All the Barbies are super supportive of each other. You must add a quote or word art to your page.
3. Girl Power - your page must be about the strength of women or about your female friends.
4. Let your inner Barbie shine!! You must add gems, sequins or sparkle to your page.
Here is my page using the Barbie Costume Recipe

Costume #2: Elemental
I loved this movie, and it's premise. It was so sweet...plus it was one that I watched in the theatres because I only go to the movies with my kiddos.
1. This movie is all about the 4 elements. You must use 4 papers on your page.
2. Fire - Ember is one of the main characters. To represent her, you must have something that burns bright, glows or sparkles on your layout.
3. Water - Wade is the guy who makes a splash in Fire City. You must have something blue on your page.
4. Air - Wade and Ember go to support the Windbreakers, the local Air Ball team. You must add something that flies.
5. Earth - Clod is the cutest little boy who is totally crushing on Ember and grows flowers out of his armpits for her. You must add something that grows from the earth on your page (flowers, leaves, trees, etc)
Costume #3: The Little Mermaid
Again, another family friendly movie...but in all honesty, I probably would have seen this without my kids. The Little Mermaid was one of the first animated movies that I saw in the theatres when I was growing up...I loved it then, and I love it still!!
1. You must use a blue BG to represent the ocean.
2. Ariel has 3 close friends that help her on her journey: Flounder, Sebastian and Scuttle. You must include 3 animals on your page.
3. Ariel's big song - Part of Your World...you know you want to sing it out loud every time you hear it!! You must include 20 thingamabobs on your page (20 elements - you can repeat some, or go crazy and have 20 different ones!!)
4. Ariel gives up her life to be with Prince Eric. Your page must be about the love of your life...or something that you are so passionate about that you would give everything up for!!
Costume #4: Hocus Pocus 2
I know technically it was released last Halloween...but I love it, so we're using it!! And besides...what's Halloween without a little Hocus Pocus!!
1. The Sanderson Sisters - You must have 3 distinct clusters AND use either a picture of 3 subjects or 3 different pictures
2. Billy - Winifred's zombie boyfriend who's mouth was sewn shut. You must include stitches or string on your page.
3. The Black Flame Candle was lit (by a virgin) to bring back the sisters. You must have something that shines on your page (fire, star, sparkle etc...)
4. Oh boooooook....The spellbook with all the magic secrets inside. You must have something that you can read or some journaling on your page.
Phew...that's it!!! I can't wait to see what you make with these recipes!! Each layout you make will count as one entry in the draw!
Deadline & Prizes:
This challenge closes at 11:59 pm EDT on Sunday October 22rd.
One $3 random winner will be chosen.
Please follow the Lilypad Gallery Guidelines: Your layout must have at least 50% Lilypad Products
