Happy October!!! I always tell my kids, it's all down hill from here until the end of the year!!! LOL.

This month our hybrid challenge is create your own journal/pocket card/ATC size card. If you are unsure of sizing just think: 4x6, 3x4 or 4x4 in size.

Here's my pocket card and it's 4x4 in size

So here's the plan:
  • Create a journal/pocket/ATC size card.
  • The card must be a hybrid
  • You may NOT use an existing journal card from any kit/collection.
  • You may use a template if you need one to help you out, just keep in mind it still has to be a hybrid project.
  • You can use any products in The Lilypad store or retired products from current Lilypad designers, you just have to make sure you follow our gallery guidelines.
  • Layouts must contain at least 50% TLP products (Templates count as 15%). Uploads must be less than 250k. List all credits; no off-site linking allowed.

Please post your layout to the Hybrid gallery prior to Midnight EST October 31, 2023 and then post it in this thread by copying the code (at the right of your gallery image) from the box under "Share BB Code".

We will draw a random winner at the beginning of next month for a $5 coupon to Allison Pennigton's store!!

I can’t wait to see your fabulous creations.

Let's see if I can actually carve out some hybrid time this month. I failed last month... September was far busier than I expected! I hope October will slow down a smidge!

Fun challenge and something that (for those who love practical projects) could easily be used on a scrapbook page or turned into a card.

Claire, you're rocking it!

This is a great idea Dawn! I made this journal card (3x4 size) and will eventually turn it into a card for my son who is finishing his PhD this year. Thanks for giving me a practical use and thank you Esther @mywisecrafts for this fun challenge!

My journalcard became a set of three. I just couldn't stop.
I used a cardboard box for the base of my cards.

Dawn you are brilliant! My younger son ended up turning it into a card for my older son so I'm thankful you suggested it! Zach doesn't always get things straight, but he has fun using some of my stuff :)

Straight is over-rated! This looks great!

I made two: I'm working on my October Daily Album and this fit right in. The one on the left is a tuck card to hold a photo or journaling tag (I just put the coffin in so you could see it was a tuck card). The other side will have a photo or journaling attached. I used Foam Tape to make a few of the elements stand out more.

Mine is 3x4”. I am obviously scissor challenged :lol2 but I kind of like the rustic homemade look.

I laughed at the scissor challenged piece. I am too, that is why in photo shop I started adding a very light gray stroke to help guide my cutting!!! BUT.... I do love the vibe of this card so the scissor challenged approach totally works!!! LOL

That is such a good tip! I'm going to try that.

Thanks for the fun challenge! It only took me all month to finally sit down and do it. ;)
