So apparently don't ask your daughter to pick which quote to use-- she'll challenge you to use all of them on your page! Thank you for the fun challenge! Fun fact: this kit and quote matched perfectly to the shirt she got me for my 50th birthday. A book with flowers and chapter 50 written underneath.
The last 3 years have been about change and adapting. I feel like I have been in a constant catch up state with Gavin’s cancer and Connor being off at college. This cruise in Dec was a welcome time to just stop and enjoy each other. I realize that our dynamics will change as Connor graduates this May and I am not ready for it but I am beginning to adjust. I have learned to back off and let him make more decisions on his own; I try not to constantly hover He’s ready to be on his own. Meanwhile I need to find more outlets for me as I shift into a caretaker role for Gavin. It is an adjustment there too. We pray these current immunotherapy trials will bring us many more years and hold his tumor at bay. I’m trying to put more trust in God and just be in the moments we have. I love them both but I realize I need to stand on my own too as one day it will ut be me in my home.
