You always need a paper in the same colors. White beige then it blends.

You could recolor gesso but gesso in art is usually white (or black) and is generally for texture on canvas like a primer...with my page I used gesso on off white so any color paper in that shade range, the gesso looks really good and blends well. You can use gesso like you would paint as well.. I think because you asked the question Re using gesso Nicole answered your question for easier use of gesso. I think in MOC8 (Dalis’s Challenge gesso was given to use in the challenge too.. There are great examples of pages in that thread using gesso for texture. Also in Nicole slow scrap video she shows how she used gesso with her pageSo it's best used on white paper?
