i know.
it's early.
REALLY early.
but i'm soooooo excited about what we are doing
i can HARDLY contain myself a moment longer!!!!

so basically.
we aren't doing christmas.
there will NOT be piles of gifts under the tree.

INSTEAD!!!
i have ordered embroidered mickey mouse ears
for EACH of my children.....
and will make some sort of traveling pack.
like
oh i don't know..
(could use some suggestions on this)
i was thinkin.
like an autograph book
pretend ticket or passport type thingy
and entrance to the park(s)

yes,
WE ARE SURPRISING my 4 children.
with a trip to DISNEYLAND!!!!!!!!!!!

they will wake up christmas morning.
see this family gift.
we will pack
and LEAVE
the next morning.

i'd love some ideas and suggestions
on how to make this surprise just perfecT!

i have NO idea what/or how to make
the tickets to look.
but KNOW i want them to look official!

any ideas????!!!!

Ohhhhh! SO fun!! What a great gift & creative way to give it. :)

As for the travel pack, I would definitely suggest a Disney pin trading lanyard. My kids had such a blast with theirs and you can put the ticket or whatever you make into the lanyard pocket. Some of the lanyards also come with starter pins which means they can start trading as soon as they get there. They are fun keepsakes to hang in their rooms when you get back too. :)

OH goodness! I'm sooooo excited for you and your family, Jacque! You're going to have a blast. I have no ideas yet, but I'll think about it. I have never been to Disney myself but someday I will be bringing my kids... I'll just have to live vicariously through you! lol!
 
Oh that is way way cool. We are doing a trip this year too, but ours isn't until Feb. That rocks that it's right away.

I so agree with Laura on the pin lanyards!! My son loved trading with the park employees. It so put an extra spin on the whole thing. Maybe you could include some other practical things...like my other son loved having a water bottle with a fan on it. Really helped with the heat. Or maybe you could give them each some money for them to spend. So they can decide and pay for things themselves. Then you would need to give them a wallet, lol.

are you driving or flying??

You could add some sort or travel games, disney coloring books (though only Jenna might like those), snacks (like Mickey Mouse shaped rice krispy treats), water bottles...

Def do the autograph books....I made the autograph books for the kids with digi stuff. Which reminds me I really need to get that photographed and posted lol.

The best tip I got when we went is to use those retractable sharpies...much easier for the characters to sign with.

That is so exciting Jacque!! I don't have any ideas, but the lanyard, and trading pin thing sounds way fun.

How awesome! That sounds like so much fun!

I love the ideal of having a box of disney themed presents... but if you wanted to draw out the christmas morning fun... one year when I was a teen I spent christmas morning with my Uncle and Aunt. I still remember how fun "santa" was with their daughter. "Santa" didn't leave her presents under the tree... but she had to hunt the house for them. I was thinking a little scavenger christmas morning hunt be fun! Give them a little peek at things that lead to the big box of goodies! You could even have clues at each station... like a pirate themed one, princess themed one, or any of the other disney characters they like.

I'm sure you all will have a blast!

and yes tania we ARE driving.
we will stop half way and stay with family.
i will come up with some clever travel games.

That is so exciting Jacque! The tickets actually look like credit cards with the persons name printed on them. If I find one laying around I will scan and show you. The tickets are also the room keys.

This is what we did for our kiddos too... a christmas present.
So I arranged a little treasure hunt, and have them scavenger through the house w clues.
And this.... (was there final present)
