Christmas lights | pad patter 12.7.21

We have warm white, I went looking for some twinkling lights and even found some in the house from Rosie's last year of school, - I placed them near the trunk of the tree but they were cold white and they did not look good at all. So off all the lights went again and just the Christmas tree warm white (non twinkling/flashing) were put back on.

Both. We bought a prelit tree and it has white and colored lights. Just like the gif! I can do one, the other, or both alternating.
We have this same type of thing with our new tree. We replaced our 20 year old non-lighted tree last year. Previously we had used the C7 colored bulbs, and I do kind of miss that look of the larger bulbs but not enough to go back to the hassle of putting them on. I played with the different light settings on this new tree a little bit last year, but we mainly just stick to the steady on multi-color since it's our tradition and goes best with the vibe of our ornaments, and I can't handle the blinking lights for very long, especially since the tree is right next to my desk. :dizzy:giggle

Both. I love warm white lights which Mr Fixit puts inside the tree. He likes colored lights so he puts those on the tree as well. A compromise of sorts. :)

White this year. We decide in November each year. I LOVE colored ones, because they remind me of my childhood. We tried to find the old school large ceramic ones this year but couldn't. :( So we used the white ones. I have a strand of colored ones in my studio though! Gotta have them!

my Toucanettes are in charge of the tree. We have both white and coloured and they have picked coloured for the past few years. The tree won't go up yet so don't know what I'll get this year.

I wish my girls would be in charge of the tree. Aspen is off to college and Megan isn't interested. My little sister and I were always in charge of the tree growing up.

Always colored and they are the C7 size. I have given thought to buying some white fairy lights to add to the tree, but have yet to buy any.

I've thought about buying additional lights to add to our pre-lit tree but never get around to doing it before we decide to put it up or they run out of stock at the stores. :giggle

I prefer multicolored. In general I love colorful things. All white lights seem elegant and fancy, which is pretty to me, but not my style. You should see the eclectic mix of ornaments I've collected over the 35 years since I was a teen. :D

Growing up I liked colored lights, but once I got married and do my own tree my OCD takes over and I have to have everything coordinating! It bothered me when the kids would bring home an ornament that didn't match. I had to put those on a kid tree. :giggle

I like white lights on my tree, so that the ornaments we've collected over the years really stand out. Outside, we used to put out more lights, but now we just have a wreath that has white lights and a cutout nativity with white spotlights. We've done red and white and even multicolor before - back when the kiddos were younger.

hmmm, white lights helping the ornaments standing out... maybe that's why I like the white lights! :agree

At the moment I have no lights as no tree yet but they're usually both white & multicoloured , I throw as many light strands on the tree as I think the power point can handle!! I just can't handle them blinking too fast !

:giggle I can't handle too much blinking either, especially if we're trying to watch tv.

I prefer colored lights on my tree. The ones outside of the hanging twinkle type icicle lights and those are all white. This year my hubby also added a ton of colored lights around he four posts that hold up our pergola. It resembles a runway in our backyard. :giggle

We have white lights upstairs on the tree, fireplace, and hutch. Downstairs we have the basketball tree which has colored lights as well as a string of colored bubble lights. My daughters started buying dh basketball themed ornaments years ago and it has taken on a life of its own. He now has 250 bb ornaments.

The basketball tree sounds fun! My MIL had a huge tree with disney ornaments and each year we would buy more for her and my two oldest would go help her decorate it. They are the oldest grandkids and the only ones for about 5 years. Anyway, when she passed away I was hoping my FIL would give the ornaments to us, but he's held on to them. Maybe we'll get them someday unless my husband's only sister takes them.

Main tree: White lights (although it does have a colored lights setting, we just don't use it since they don't match our blue/purple/pink snowflake theme!)

Office Tree: White lights (cool tone) for my RAINBOW tree! It's my favorite thing right now! ;)

House: Blue lights (our house is a gray/blue color; doggies insisted on also posing for photo!)

I love that white tree with the ombre rainbow of ornaments... super cool! :tree

This would so be me. My OCD wouldn't let me have lights that didn't match. :giggle I'd have to have enough of the second kind to mix throughout the tree.

I couldn't handle the blinking right next to me either. I have thought of adding the larger C7 lights to my pre-lit tree that has smaller lights because I think the contrast would look good with the two sizes of lights. But one, I haven't made it to the store and two, it'd be more work. :giggle

Well, if he's going to help then by all means a compromise is the way to go! :agree :tree

I'm glad you were able to have the best of both worlds with your regular tree and your studio.
