Changing Styles?

I've been living dangerously, and poking around in Pinterest for the last few days :giggle , and I've found some PL styles that I'm super drawn to.
Makes me want to change things up a bit. I've been doing the same blocked style for the past 2 years now, and am in the mood for a change.
BUT... we're only in the middle of 2015.

I AM at a place in my scrapping that I'm starting a new album (just finally finished and ordered my 1st 2015 album :yesss)... so I would be making the change in a fresh album... but is it weird to change up mid-year? Or should I keep all the styles for the current year the same and make my changes next year?

I change so much it's pathetic. I started out doing 8.5x11 this year then switched to 9x12 and then tried 6x8 for about a month and went back to 9x12 and now I am settled on 6x8 again, for the time being anyway:whistle. I am really itching to try 6x12 but I am going to try to finish out this year in 6x8 and maybe try it next year. I have liked trying all the different sizes but I have not liked all the money I've wasted and the many different albums etc... I have going for this year. I have got to stop being so wishy washy.

However, isn't that what yearly albums are about? Our daily lives, what we do, what we change? If you want to play with a new style I say go for it, it's part of what you did or wanted to do this year.

There are no rules! Do what keeps you happy creatively and motivated!! I say GO FOR IT! :)

I don't think it is weird at all, two different books can easily accommodate two different styles, I bet your viewers won't even notice! They are just focused on the photos! Do what makes you happy!

Life is all about making changes mid-stream, learning as we go. No-rules scrapbooking, this should all be fun and make us feel creative and fulfilled. Do it all, change it up, use ALL the sizes and page protectors if that's what makes you happy.

It's my second year of PL and I want to change format next year. For now my pages are DP 12x12 and next year I want to try something like A4 portrait, more simple to print. But i don't see pocket template with this format. I think I Will adjust the one I always use.

You Go Girl!! I would totally change it if you want! I totally agree with what Carilyne said!

And I'm over here like, "there's a different PL style......?" I thought they were all just.... "pocket pages...."

Anyone care to enlighten me? *blush*

Love this! Yes.

Well, there are all different sizes for one, but for me, I'm a 12x12 scrapper... mostly because I want my albums to line up neatly on the shelf (lame).
But there are more subtle differences in styles - some people use the pocket overlays (for digital), some just use the photos, no pockets. Some use stitching, rounded corners, straight corners... all of these things combine to create a style or feel to the page. I have, for a long time now, used one particular style - All of my pics touch, there's no space between them, and it's very photo-based...not a lot of extras. Example:

You can see how that approach differs from these (which are also both great... :beat)

It's nothing earth-shattering... just that the changing of subtle details in the approach result in a different feel to the page. That's all. :)
Now, you may consider yourself enlightened. :giggle

Thank you. It makes sense. I would not call myself a pocket scrapper. I enjoy looking at other people's, but I still haven't loved any I've tried to make.... except these from my CT at PBP:

I feel like those were sort of cheating at pocket style, but whatever. I LOVE making the pocket letters, and looking at the ATCs from the swap here, so maybe one day, I'll enjoy this type of scrapping. :)

I would say do it as long as you are okay with it! I love those versions of PL styles that have been popping up all over. I love seeing everyone's creative twist on things. Can't wait to see your twist too!

I think I'm way too messy for the clean look of pocket pages. Haha

Totally understand... although I've seen some PL pages that get pretty "messy"... definitely no rule that says it has to be clean & simple. ;)
