Challenging Myself

As a Mom of all boys too, I totally get what you mean about them not caring too much for the sentimental stuff... but I'm hoping maybe their future wives will! :) I think your book ideas sounds awesome!

Agree. I think that is a fantastic idea for a book. I think Stacy Julian has a class on just this thing and I thought it was a cool idea when I heard about it. It's a great edition to memory keeping for sure.

my husband is actually very sentimental and becomes attached to the strangest things. i don't think he was like that when he was younger ... it happened once he had his children ... so maybe there is hope for the unsentimental boys of the world? maybe some?

i think it is a great idea for a book. you come up with the most wonderful projects hummie !!!

I mostly scrap for myself. My dd loves the pages I do of her kids. My youngest son only cares about it if he sees I'm scrapping the grand kids instead of him, lol.

Jump in and see what you can do! :)

I scrap for myself. I find it therapeutic. Unfortunately just because you find something important, doesnt mean someone else will find it meaningful. I say go for it, but do it for you!

you go girl!!!! both are great ideas: the scrapping the challenges and combining with what you want to do, the book of things is one great creation...I normally do that with stuff I would keep on my hoarding maniac...but which would be impossible to keep....
I may take up on doing a book about the important stuff !
Can't wait to see your MOC pages!!!

this is an awesome idea and so very true... I only have my nephew to hand things down to, and I have things from my parents that may or may not mean anything to him down the road... so many things to consider, then I just put it out of my mind.. lol... I pray that your sons marry wonderful women that love keeping the family heirlooms for carrying down the road and that they have sons to keep it going.. the books you make will come in very handy, and they too will be worth keeping!

Lynne-Marie's Unwritten has a nice, vintage look and has lots of journaling spots for telling each item's story.

Or this one:

Oh Hummie, I know you can do it but don't wear yourself out! Sounds like you are very busy right now. Be good to yourself!

I'm not sure what style you are looking for but these have a nice homey vintage feel to them...

And this album could be modified making composition choices easier...

What a bunch of enablers they all are!! LOL

You can get all the challenges done and work on your book!! :) Maybe do your book in a pocket page format? Photo in one "pocket" - description/info etc. in the pocket next to it.

Good luck!!

BYOC is my favorite!! Because you get to buy items from different designers you can mix and match to your heart's content (and personal budget! ;) )
