Whew!! We just got back from our vacation at the beach and I'm working on playing catch up with all the things. I took my laptop and honestly thought I would be on quite a bit, but I think I opened it maybe twice :giggle. I feel like I'm out of touch with the world haha. But, now I'm ready to settle in and get a lot of my summer "stuff" done before the dreaded back to school.

So, kind of piggy-backing off the thread from the other day and the theme from this past week, tell me a little about your vacation time, whether it be a long one a short trip.

Do you unplug completely?
Do you relax or do a lot of activities?
Do you eat out on vacation, eat in, or a combination?

As for me, I'm usually on my phone a bit, and sometimes the laptop, but mostly I read!
As my kids have gotten older, we do less activity and more relaxing.
Eating out is my favorite, so we do a lot of that lol. But we do breakfast and lunch in.

On our most recent trip I thought I’d be on my phone a lot but nope! I didn’t take my laptop either so it was nice to unplug for a bit.

As for activities, I prefer a few activities with a lot of relaxing in between.

The best part of vacation is not cooking so I like eating out as often as possible (even though I don’t feel very good after).

We have 1 week a year that is off grid, usually in Wales. No wifi, no phone signal etc. We self cater, as it's easier with our allergies etc. I have an action/adventure loving family, so it's usual a full week outdoors exploring.

For other times we normal visit with family and can use their internet etc. But even then we are so busy that we don't go online much.

I have a mini feeling of the catching up thing too. I volunteered at our city's massive art fair this weekend (10th largest art fair in the country). I was there all weekend long from sun-up to sun-down, so I didn't even have a minute to look at email, let alone anything else. I got home at 9:00 pm last night and was too tired to do anything then either. :giggle

When we go on vacation (which we don't very often) we usually have a mix of chilling out and planned activities. I figure if we are going to go somewhere, we should enjoy the place we visit at least half the time. Lol. When we take random days off to just stay home, I'd much rather just chill at home, but we do often treat ourselves to a dinner out too.

As far as being on my phone, I do pop in to check emails occasionally, but NOT my work emails. Those can wait until I'm at work! :giggle I like to just get away from all those obligations and enjoy time off!

Do you unplug completely? Nope!
Do you relax or do a lot of activities? I prefer relaxing but I like to have a few planned activities. Otherwise, I like to have a minimal itinerary.
Do you eat out on vacation, eat in, or a combination? Mosting dining out, unless we're renting somewhere with a kitchen.

Do you unplug completely? Rarely, unless I'm with a friend and we've planned to just veg.
Do you relax or do a lot of activities? Depends on the vacation destination ... at the beach with a friend? Lots of reading, chatting and relaxing. At Disney? Go, go, go!
Do you eat out on vacation, eat in, or a combination? Eat out as much as possible.
