For anyone who washes their car in the driveway (no legality or environmental debates, please), what are your favorite products to use - soap, window cleaner, tire cleaner, interior, etc.???

This brake dust is getting a little out of control and my favorite drive-thru carwash has been down for a month now...

I'm pretty sure the last time I washed my car in the driveway, I was in HS. And I used dishwashing soap, which apparently you aren't supposed to.

Also, the last time I washed my car AT ALL was like a year ago.

I'm a great source of car washing info.

My favorite cleaner? My hubby! :giggle. I have no idea what he uses, but I love the results!

for the outside, I just use whatever car wash soap my DH has. For the inside, I use those armor all wipes and I LOVE them. My dh even got mad because he thought I spent a bunch of money getting the car detailed a few months ago. :giggle

I didn't know this either, Angie.

I'm partial to a certain automatic car wash here in town, I can't remember the last time I washed a car at home.

For glass I really like those microfiber glass cloths by .. Scotch, I think? They're in the sponge/mop aisle at Target. I keep them laying around the house for tablet/smartphone screens (they're the BEST for smudgy tech gadgets), but after a few washes they get relegated to car window duty. It's the only way I've found to get streak-free windows.

Beyond that I got nothin'.

What?! Is it illegal to wash your car in the driveway some places? LOL
We always wash our car at home but I do the car wash a lot as well. About once a month. During the summer and warmer months we wash at home. Mostly because the kids love to do it. Just the regular dish soap for washing. Windex for windows. Armor all for tires. And I have a special leather treatment I use for the interior that I got from the dealership when we bought the car. New Mexico sun is killer and supposedly this stuff protects the seats and dash. Not sure what it's called.

Some cities have ordinances against it in the US, I guess. Not here ... we're just fast and loose with the water wasting and the chemicals here in Wisconsin! Wooo!

I think more often, though, it's that areas are under water restrictions due to drought so washing your car in the driveway is considered waste.

Oh my. I have my own personal wash and detail service here. My car gets washed every week, window gets cleaned every night after I get home from work. John swears by this place: http://www.griotsgarage.com/ He's a smidge fanatical about it, but I'm not complaining!

I hate washing my truck. Usually I'll stop off at a place and have them clean it or just let the rain wash away the dirt. :giggle
