Last Friday my car battery died in the Target parking lot.

Yesterday I was driving to a home about an hour away (I do a lot of driving for work). I noticed that my temperature gauge was moving into the hot zone. Grabbed some coolant and put it in. Then last night I was driving to another home about an hour away again. When I got off the highway and came to a stop sign my car started smoking. I opened the hood and found the reason that my coolant was gone...it was dripping from a hose onto a hot pipe, causing the smoke.

So now I get to go to the mechanic first thing this morning and keep my fingers crossed that this is a fairly quick and inexpensive fix. Keep your fingers crossed for me too, please! :pray

Oh no! I'm so sorry Shannon! Car woes suck! Big time! I am fortunate since my hubby is a mechanic and even though the parts can be expensive, the labour is free. ;) I wish you lived near so that I could help you out. At least my mechanic is honest... lol!

Hope all goes quickly and cheaply today for the car. Florida is no place for being stranded in June....

From reading this thread, I have deduced that Shannon is a call girl.

I absolutely hate when I have any car issues with my own or anyone else's. I always go into panic mode and blame it on DH! :)

Hope you get some good news and a cheap bill.

Haha, Angie! I'd certainly make more money that way.

Thankfully, the bill is cheap. I always get so nervous!

I'm glad it wasn't too expensive. It seems for us, that when one thing goes wrong on one of our cars, 10 things go wrong!

I hate car troubles!!!
thankful it wasn't too expensive...hope it is all fixed and better for you!

I am sooo glad that it wasn't too expensive! :( Car woes are the worst and you seriously never know whether it will be 150 dollars or like 700 to fix! :( I hope it's all fixed now and you don't have any more trouble!

Phew! Sometimes the simplest things end up costing the most, and I'm really glad this wasn't the case here. It's no fun driving a car that is breaking down so often.

that's crappy. hoping it's nothing too serious. and totally impressed that you even popped that hood. i would have just stood on the side of the road stranded waiting for me hubby (or my dad) to come to my rescue. LOL
