Oh boy.....our dollar is so low right now. I keep forgetting to calculate that when I shop and end up spending way more. Arg! It's so frustrating. Prices keep going up here, especially groceries, cause so much comes from the US.

Just a mini vent. It's crazy! Spent 22$ and cause our dollar is so low it came to $30 when I looked at my account! I hope it goes up soon and that whoever / whatever controls that stops being a jerk lol

Awww.... I wish it would even out for you! I am lucky, while I am a numbers girl, I would not want to have to calculate every time I made a purchase!

Our dollar is so bad right now. It's the lowest it has been in years. I don't even want to look at the exchange rate!

I'm sorry for you! My mom is heading to Canada in a week and I'll admit I'm hoping it stays low until she's home. My {US} dollar will buy more amazing chocolate and yummy chips that way!

After that, I hope it improves for you!

had a look, the Canadian dollar is about the same as the Australian dollar so I know exactly what you mean!

As for converting to euros, sigh, even worse...

It's awful! I had to cut DH from buying online cause he has no idea about currency convesion and shipping. He ordered a mini series he wanted on dvd for $299 and the bill on the credit card was $500. FIVE HUNDRED. Grrrr

My husband is in Canada for a year for work. He sent me a pic the other day of the price of cereal. $10 for a freaking box of cereal?!? And he wanted us to move up there for the year...Nope.

Oh yes! Must add contraband to list! Thanks for the reminder!

I have to admit that I'm glad we took our road trip to Oregon and California before the dollar fell. I'd hate to have to pay the exchange on a vacation in the US right now!

I've been steering clear of buying any produce from the US lately, its just way too expensive, $4.99 lb for peppers!!! Also trying to buy more local meat, dairy and produce.

Yeah fruit and veggies are INSANE! $6.99 for a small tub of strawberries. Grrrrr!
And being winter here there isn't a lot of local produce options.

totally ignorant American here! I didn't even think about you all having to convert...that is horrible!! I mean, could you have an off shore account or American account just for scrapping? teehee

Bahahaha! Actually our banks do offer American dollar accounts.....but I think I'll just stick to my trusty calculator. I better or DH will cut me off! That would be BAAAAD! I'd have to get sneaky hehehehe

I think the world, the whole world, is in a right on state....everywhere there is inflation and chaos....and I keep trying not to stress...not so much for me but my parents, most of the family who are hard workers ... hope things get better around there Erin!!!!!

Ugh. I totally feel you! I'm picky about veggies out of season anyway. It's been so many bags of frozen. I'm ready for fresh summer produce!

Ohmygoodness.... $6.99 for strawberries! $4.99 for 1 pound of peppers! Cheez. I think we are half of that! Sorry, ladies, the exchange rate bites!

I love that. I was thinking that would be a great idea, but wouldn't want to have to figure out the legality. I can just see some Dateline episode for when Anne somehow gets busted setting up foreign accounts for scrap enabling. :giggle
