Now that I have one month's of BYOC Colors in my PSE13 Color Swatches, I'm wondering if I can make them into a set or is that something that you need PS/CC to do?

I have googled any YouTube videos I can, and while it appears that I can LOAD a set, I can't seem to find anything to make one. Right now, I only have this year's colors to deal with and only created 1604 BYOC swatches but ...I'm thinking that I can't make a set.

Any geeky people know the answer to that?

This YouTube Video from Hummie shows how to create a color table from a photo. It might give you some good ideas.

@klee73010 when I'm using a couple of the products, I can see what other color I might like to use for a font or recoloring an element from another store. Think of Pantone colors of the year. I believe they sell their color palette set but trust me that's not what I have in mind!!! LOL

@wvsandy I saw that one but didn't quite get how you can have just the colors of a month's BYOC colors visible. I only want to see those colors under the browns, and then possibly see only another month's. Maybe I'm asking too much of Adobe...

I use the color dropper and pick from something on my layout. Haha, I hide those swatches and figured they are useful for creating something, vs using something already created

LOVE Hummie!! Wouldn't be where I am today in digi scrapping if it weren't for all her classes; about 5 years of them!!!! She has closed her site down now and is only on YouTube.

Haha!! I am like what is a swatch?!?!

You are tooooo funny!!!! HUGS!!!!!!!

Let me show you some paper! LOL LOL LOL

Yeah, you could definitely make a swatch from papers!! I still have BUNCHES left from my paper scrapping days, and now and then will still make a card.

I just use the eye dropper tool, like @klee73010
I'm not sure I understand what you want to do, but I think you want to delete some of the colors that are in the current swatch in your screenshot, and then save the remaining set. Is that right? Can you right-click on the ones you don't want and delete them that way? When you click on the tiny triangle and three lines to the right of the tabs, you must get a menu. Maybe it has some useful options? I don't have PSE so I can't do it myself, but I try to help anyway!

I do what Kristina and Lorry do.... eye dropper.

I think you can click and drag to the trash can to delete them also. Another way, would to click on those little lines on the top right, and go to the Preset Manager. I think this way, you an delete more at one time.

I'm not on my laptop to be able to check. :)

What I want is an .aco file that has only the colors of say...BYOC 1606. I know how to get the colors INTO the swatch panel but I'd prefer to have an .aco file I can pull up and use only when I want it. I also want to make .aco files when I do an album and have picked very specific colors to use throughout. Or use some of those pretty palettes that you find on Pinterest...

I think I found a tutorial for PS/CC that I'll try in PSE.It's about saving a named Swatch SET which is not exactly the same but close enough for me. It's not an immediate issue but I ran across a tutorial about importing an .aco file on YouTube when watching something else, and it got the idea back into my head.

How is a swatch set not what you want? Isn't an aco file a set of color swatches?

I don't know the difference, like Lorry. (I keep repeating myself - the like Lorry part, lol!)

I think this will work.... You could go into the preset manager, remove the ones that you don't want, and then save the BYOC colors as a new swatch within the preset manager.

I downloaded a little programme to help do this, although I've struggled a little with it I think I just need to play more. You can select colours from the screen and save a set with a colour swatch name and then you can get the hex numbers for each one to copy and paste in to PSE. That's what I did to create my moodboards for the moodboard challenge.

@lorryfach I don't know the answer to that except I 'think' a swatch set lives in your application files under presets and an .aco can be kept anywhere and used when you want it. Jessica Sprague was giving one away (her tutorial was the one I saw on YT)

eta: I wrote this in the am and then spent the afternoon on the phone with Apple as my backups are backing hit and miss. I stumped 'em! :(

The files stores in application data are the same as files stored elsewhere (so it would still be an .aco), and either way you can use it whenever you want. But if you have an objection to saving them in the presets folder, just drag it somewhere else.
