Have any good finds lately?

I went today for the first time in what seems like FOREVAH!.. and got a bag full of goodies.. .GAP, Tommy H, shirts for my boys!!

I love it when you 'score' big!!:happydance

I stopped at the local Goodwill today looking for a typewriter because I want to do some old school stuff on my Project Life. No luck. The clerk said the only thing that goes faster is record players!

wow, really! I wish now I'd have kept my typewriter but when I got a computer I thought, what do I need that for now?! UGH, hindsight, eh! Fingers crossed you can 'hunt' one down, Laura!

I checked Craigslist too but most people here want $50-60 for their typewriters. Is it me or does that seem crazy!?

I found a typewriter here on craigslist for $50 too...I don't want to pay that much!!

As for other thrift store finds...I haven't been in forever! I keep looking for globes/maps though...no such luck!

i stopped at a local thrift store two weeks ago - it was CRAZY expensive ... probably 10x what i thought i would be willing to pay for something ... i need to keep looking ...

We only have a very small Salvation Army store here. I check in from time to time and finds some nice stuffs. I have found EUC Gymboree and Gap kids clothes for like $1 or 2 an item and a few vintage goodies for my home decor.

I have such an amazing selection here. It's hard not to want to stop in everyday.

Since moving, we've scored:

2 pieces for the wall
An amazing lamp
A 1988 USA Olympic committee jacket
Darling mugs that are perfectly eclectic
A metal saltine cracker tin which we use for our reusable grocery bags

But thanks for the inspiration, I'm probably going to head over to "thrifty third" street today.
I'll keep a look out for typewriters. :)

hmmmm... I haven't been in a while either but I love finding brand name clothing for my boys although.

I am a HUGE believer in the art of thrift! Most of my daughters clothes are thrift or even garage sale finds. It's hard to pay full price for clothes when she is just so hard on her clothes. I found an antique wooden school desk - in better condition than this one desk for $14 the one pictured sold for $35! I am thinking of stripping it and paint it white or hot pink for my daughters room!

Funny you should mention thrifting, as that is on my to do list for today! I bought a new desk for my office less than 6 months ago, but it is too tall for me and the ergonomics are killing me. My neck and shoulders have been a wreck ever since I got that desk. I don't think the hubs will want to buy a brand new one since we just got the other one not that long ago, so I'm hoping to score at goodwill with something that can be redone.
