desperate to find SOMETHING that will work for OUR family this SUMMER...
I think I've found it........
FINALLY!!!

here are some examples..
I LOVE that I can incorporate it to what
my kids LOVE to do.
and what WE NEED to do..
I'm going to add things like...

visit the elderly
bake cookies for a neighbor
etc etc....

but these are the ones I've found.
and there are GREAT ideas already on there....

just need a little tweeking to meet the needs
of my OLDER kiddos.

Ooh what a fun idea to create a list like that! Lots of good ideas there! Woot!
 
We did something similar one year, which we might pull out again this year. I gave everyone a jar and slips of paper. They were to write down things they could do, i.e. make a necklace, do a craft, write a letter, read a book etc. And there were chores in there too like clean my closet. Then they put it all in the jar and if they came to me and said "I'm bored" or they were fighting with their sibling...I would say, go pick from your jar. The only rule was - YOU HAD TO DO what it said.

I find a lot of times my kids will say "i don't want to do that" or "Noooo" , but when they get started they get into it. They just needed something to give them that push.

Now the kids took it a step further. They added paper clips onto the slips of paper and put a magnet on a string. That way they could fish for something to do, lol.

In fact that might make a cute hybrid. LOL
 
I made a list like that last summer and stuck it on the fridge. It really helps you remember to get out and enjoy life and what your area has to offer. I am really glad we did it too since we just moved and it was our last summer in the US.

oh gosh! LOVE that idea.... will definitely have to do one of these for our new house to help the kids get acclamated! love it!
 
we got our list finished today!
it was fun thinkin of ideas....
now to just carry them out!

FUN!! i want to do this next summer! this summer is not going to work LOL - since we are going to spend the next 8 weeks moving around until we can move into our new home ;)
