So I have this new iMac that I got when school started in Jan. I had so many problems with my other 2012 iMac, that I couldn't take it anymore and caved. I literally loaded the apps I needed to survive the school semester for the last few months ... but now that school is over ... I'm trying to get up to speed with my Adobe CC apps, all my TLP dig goodies :stash, and photos. I've been organizing and moving files like crazy for the last 2 days. (thinking of you @MrsPeel - when you get your new mac. pain in the booty this process is!!!) And I just took some photos on my good camera that I'm trying to download. I use Bridge's Photo Importer thingy. (yes I'm so technical). It's not working. Not recognizing my camera at all. I'm googling a bit and it looks like this is a known issue since last Fall with El Capitan OS? Holy heck ... they haven't gotten this fixed yet? I finally got a workaround with File>Import from Device instead. But it's clumsy. Anyone else upload photos via Bridge and have another way to do this. I refuse to use Mac Photo bc I hate the "library" system on Macs.

Maybe it's time to finally plunge into LR?

The sad part is I have it and have used it intermittently here and there. I just haven't adapted it as THE workflow ... camera to finished process. Sad, I know. And I mostly use Camera Raw for editing so I should just do the LR thing already.

Lorry ... mmm cookies!

Anyone have a very easy to follow getting started with LR tut? I want basic, how to get started with the catalog/workflow/uploading images from Camera sort of thing VS how to use LR.

don't even tell about the Mac problems in this new system... :( the girls were talking about this ` while ago, one of the reasons I was reluctant to get another Mac... but I( guess most one can do it find ways to work it... I will always rather have problems like this with iMac than the problems I had with Windows, when my machines got infected with trojans and I had to buy two computers within 4 months :(
I got it now, but is still in the box (is huge btw LOL)
I need to get my next door neighbour to help me put together some stand alone shelves I bought so I can have more space as I will try keep on scrapping in this one, and will also need my friend Clement to help me with all the mess I have... I migrated my iPhoto into one of my EHDs...

Hope you get sorted soon!!!!

I'm in good shape. The worst part was how slow the other iMac was. Torture moving some of the files! but I'm almost done now. Hope you get someone to set you up soon, glad the mac arrived though! Good luck to you too!
