Brain Games |Pad Patter 1.21

I like word search puzzles. The words just seem to jump out at me. My youngest dd was in and out of the hospital for quite a few years when she was a teenager, and we used to do word searches all the time. It was something we could do together. We both still love them. In the days before I took my Kindle everywhere I went, I always had a word search book and a pen in my purse.

Oh my word I thought the logic games section of the LSAT was going to be the end of me. lol

I have always loved logic puzzles. That's why I fell in love with programming many years ago. It was solving logic puzzles all day and getting paid for it. :happyclap I still play Sudoku and love jigsaw puzzles.

I love logic puzzles! I think these are super fun:

I also enjoy the who done it type puzzles that use process of elimination like this:

I play Sudoku every night before bed... I have an app on my kindle - no paper/pens! I also love Scattergories and Taboo! I've not heard of Kakuro, so I'm going to look that up (maybe there's an app for that? lol) My dd16 loves to play Clue... she has several different versions. My ds14 on the other hand will play any game with me. He however collects Monopoly games! We love to play Settlers of Catan and a new one I learned about a couple years back called Machi Koro - super fun!

UPDATE: checked out Kakuro, and yeah, no! Too much thinking for me! lol

I like the Jumble, unscramble word game, in the daily newspaper. It's fun and quick.

I’m not a fan of crossword puzzles but I do love word searches and I started playing Sudoku this fall. DH plays it every night but my favorite is 1010. I like the spatial play of it, fitting the blocks in. It’s like Tetris. I am a big board game fan and love to play strategy games and card games. My son got Catan for Christmas and we played it several times but I wasn’t ever able to beat him. Darn!

Yes, I do every puzzle I can, and I do them because of my father. He could do them in ink! It was sad when his brain tumor took all that away from him. He couldn’t find the answers and if he did, he couldn’t put the pen to the paper. So I used to help him. Now I do them in his memory, but I still use a pencil with a big eraser.

What a wonderful way to remember him! I love you adapted it for yourself by using a pencil and big eraser! :D

How sweet. My father loved doing jigsaw puzzles and when I would visit he and my mother in FL before she died, there was always a jigsaw puzzle out. I had even found a carrier for him since space was limited. I enjoyed them over the years but went many years with not doing them. For some reason the year he died, I spent the month of December doing jigsaw puzzles. It was later when I was telling Martha about it that she reminded me how much my father loved them. After she told me that I realized that my doing those puzzles that year is what got me through the first holiday season without either parent and that I had felt a comfort when doing them.

I love logic puzzles! I haven't done any in a long time, although I'd like to try one again and see if I still have the patience to sit and work them out like I did when I was younger.

I like Sudoku too, and have a really beautiful Sudoku app on my iPad: Big Bad Sudoku Book (It works on my phone, too, but it's not as pretty. I know what's important! LOL)

I don't enjoy brain games as much as I used to -- I think because lately I'm thinking so much at work, I'm too tired to do it in my leisure time.

I enjoy suduko, scrabble and crossword puzzles (not cryptic crosswords though - I usually don't have a clue what they mean). I also love code crackers which I discovered when I was in the UK. I can't find the books here in Canada though, so picked up a couple more last year.

I've started my day with the crossword for yeeeeeeaaaaars! On the phone, I play Sudoku, Words with Friends, Wordscapes, Wordstacks. I also play a few Sporcle.com games in a day. I'm not very good at Logic games which frustrates me because I think I should be better -- maybe I'll get a book of them and try to get better.

I enjoy logic puzzles but my favourite is figuring out spatial puzzles. Im such a visual person so they get my mind spinning and I love it. I also am addicted to doing jigsaw puzzles.

i like the logic ones and have some apps for them that you recommended at some point maybe last year, but i can't do them before bed, i try to turn my brain off then - i usually do them while waiting with the 1 kid while the other kid is at swimming or doing something else. As long as there aren't numbers, i'm good with puzzles - meh, suduko style puzzles but brain teasers in general, sure!
