Do you know that i am a book hoarder,i just keep sticking more in my to read folder,go hunting around amazon and good reads to see what looks good and add it to my to read list,so these book threads with ideas do me no good at all lol you are all just feeding my addiction he he

I am the same way. I LOVE looking through Goodreads and Amazon for new books. I also love to browse book stores too.

oh lisa you sound just like me when were out i find waterstones and can spend hours in there my husband is getting a bit fed up of it now lol

i've become an ebook hoarder - i think i have 30 titles waiting to be read on my nook! yikes.

I've been a lifelong book hoarder, but I started working at the library last year and there's just no excuse to not use the library when you're there three or more times a week. And when my son was born we turned our office into his nursery so I had to get rid of TWO bookshelves worth of books.

Which is probably just as we'll since, other than audiobooks, I've only read one book since he was born.

oh me too! i've lost track of how many unread books i have waiting for me on my kindle ... and i have a few 'real' books on my nightstand too ... i loooove reading :)

One plus of library books is the built-in deadline. I always finish them on time. Ebooks can linger much linger for me.

I used to be a book hoarder-until I started really taking a look at the books I'd owned since Junior High/High School. A lot of them went out the door to be donated at the Friends of the Library (Piers Anthony? oh yeah, not out the door fast enough!). There are a lot more I could probably let go of these days since I rarely find fiction I like these days. And there *are* a bunch of unread books on my Nook, BUT they're mostly those free books they used to give away every Friday; and I know most of those I'll never touch. I archive them. I could get desperate.

Yeah, libraries are great, but yeah, the fines always get me. For a while the LA public library was letting people take books out for TWO weeks and raised the fine. I think there were enough complaints that the time went back to three weeks, but they didn't lower the fine.

I'm terrible at this... worse is when 3 books you've had on hold come in at the same time and you only have 2 weeks with them!! That's where I'm at right now. :D

I have been trying really hard to not buy anymore books! But I need JK Rowling's book now. And I can't get it on my Nook because my mom and sis will need want to read it too. :)

I find that since getting my Kindle and following a couple of freebie Kindle blogs I have grabbed so many books that I actually have 70 index pages of books sitting on my Kindle and seeing as I only keep the books I haven't read yet ON my Kindle that is a heck of a lot of to-be-reads! I will read nearly anything though so I grab, mysteries, thrillers, romance, paranormal stuffs and cookbooks so I guess not being fussy can cause you to be a book hoarder too :)

I see no problem at all with hoarding books. :giggle My hubby on the other hand just doesn't get it at all. He was so excited when I bought my first Nook because he thought I'd get rid of all my paper books AND that I'd quit buying random books at garage sales and at the library book sale each spring. I have but back, but books just comfort me, so too bad! :)

Y'all need to come to MO. Our library doesn't charge late fees so long as you return the book to us. I work at the best library ever. :)
