It's time for another book suggestions thread! Yahoo! This thread will be to suggest a book you'd like to read together here for our fun TLP book club! You can suggest a book that you've already read and loved or a book that's on your TBR (to-be-read) list. I LOVE seeing everyone's ideas in these threads!

TLP Book Club: We have a fun informal book club here at The Lilypad and it's open to anyone and everyone who likes to read! :clap For this thread we are looking for suggestions for what to read together over the next four months.

Each person can suggest
one book one book one book one book. :giggle
In order to give lots of people a chance to make a suggestion, let's stick to one suggestion per person to start. :agree

When I do the voting poll, I can only have 10 selections in the poll, so one book suggestion per person lets more people give suggestions each time. I will leave this thread open until about November 30th or until we get 10 suggestions. Then I will open up a voting poll.

Once we vote, I'll start a new thread for each of the four top books... one per month, for the next four months starting in January. You can see the complete list of our old picks in our Master Reading List. You can read the books in any order and at any time. If you want to chat about the books, just reply to that thread. Easy peasy! :agree

So.... what should we read together next?

1. Wool (the omnibus) by Hugh Howey
2. Run for the Hills by Kevin Wilson
3. Twice by Mitch Albom
4. Too Old For This by Samantha Downing
5. The Violin Conspiracy by Brendan Slocumb
6. These Silent Woods by Kimi Cunningham Grant
7. Witch You Would by Lia Amador
8. The Island of Missing Trees by Elif Shafak
9.
10.

well i'm really late to having started this series but apparently it's got an Apple tv series (i haven't seen it, we don't have Apple TV so i don't know how close to the series it is)
so
Wool (the omnibus) by Hugh Howey - highly recommend if you like sci-fi, postapocalyptic styles - it's the 510-ish pg version, not the novella singular starter - it was released as a novella series in instalments but that would be cliffhanger painful and has been re-released a few times and probably everyone has read this but me (i'm halfway thru book 2 but it's a prequel)

my cover and blurb are differnet (better IMHO) than GR so here's the link then i'll paste my cover and blurb from elsewhere

In a ruined and hostile landscape, in a future few have been unlucky enough to survive, a community exists in a giant underground silo.

Inside, men and women live an enclosed life full of rules and regulations, of secrets and lies.

To live, you must follow the rules. But some don't. These are the dangerous ones; these are the people who dare to hope and dream, and who infect others with their optimism.

Their punishment is simple and deadly. They are allowed outside.

Jules is one of these people. She may well be the last.

I read this series and loved it. I also watched the Apple show and they did a great job, it doesn’t stray much. The first 2 seasons cover the first book which I love, so there can be more seasons.

I am going to recommend Run for the Hills by Kevin Wilson.

Ever since her dad left them twenty years ago, it’s been just Madeline Hill and her mom on their farm in Coalfield, Tennessee. While it’s a bit lonely, she sometimes admits, and a less exciting life than what she imagined for herself, it’s mostly okay. Mostly.

Then one day Reuben Hill pulls up in a PT Cruiser and informs Madeline that he believes she’s his half sister. Reuben—left behind by their dad thirty years ago—has hired a detective to track down their father and a string of other half siblings. And he wants Mad to leave her home and join him on a road trip to find them all.

That sounds good too! It's on the list. Thanks for the suggestion! :agree
