Board gamers after Xmas

We haven't had the chance to play it yet, but my parents gave me the Oregon Trail card game for Christmas. Playing that game on the Apple IIe in the computer lab at school was a HUGE part of my childhood (5 1/4" floppy discs and all), so I'm really excited to try it out!

We got 3 new games this year: Ticket to Ride, Catan, and Skipbo. We love them all and play quite often. We have Forbidden Island and have played 3 times, winning twice.

We love PIT! But only play it when we have friends over... it's more fun with lots of people.

I found Bounce off on Amazon for a great deal and I sent it to my sisters too. It's fun! We went down to my younger sister's house on Friday and played and played it! Her husband loved it! He even went and found some more ping pong balls so we could play with 3 teams instead of 2. I wish it came with more designs, but I figured we could make up our own if we want more.

What's the best version of Ticket to Ride to start with?
We have the European base game - I think we enjoy that because the oldest two have travelled there - also why we picked up the Asian line rather than the Americas version. Not that it makes any difference to game comprehension, just a nice bonus to have travelled to some of the cities mentioned...

@bellbird, we've won Forbidden Island 3 times in a row! I was starting to feel that it was a little too easy. Actually, I suspect it's just luck of the draw. Every time we've played, Fool's landing has ended up on one edge of the board, and we've been able to collect our treasure squares really close together, which has been a huge help.
that gives us hope!

My brother gave us "King of Tokyo" for Christmas. We aren't very big board gamers (though we do have quite a few), but we might start to be because it was a lot of fun!!
We have "We Didn't Playtest This" and the expansions (card game), it is a very VERY random game and a tonne of fun!! It can be over in a couple of turns or last a long time.
We also love "Deer in the Headlights" and "Zombie Dice", both dice games, lots of fun.
And I seem to collect Monopoly, I have about 10 different versions of the blasted game, lol!

I might have to check out some new games, I have heard of Exploding Kittens, but not most of the rest.

hmmm? I've never heard of any of these games. We are in serious need of board games that are newer. Will be checking these out.
