I was sitting here thinking about how my Saturdays have been Soccer Saturdays. And how my brother's are Sporty Saturdays (Hockey & Football). My mom prefers Clean House Saturdays, and my sister Exploring Saturdays.

So, I was wondering: Do your Saturdays (or Sundays) have a general theme? Do you tend to do a lot of the same things every Saturday/Sunday?

Overall, since Nick is a shift-worker, and he often works Saturdays. So, on those days outside of soccer season, we tend to have Lazy Saturdays. We'll make snacks, watch some tv, maybe go for a walk around the neighborhood. Nothing too adventurous.

When we were growing up, Saturday was house cleaning day and we always hated that! I definitely don't do that! Mom would start, with the noisy sweeper, at 8 am and start telling everybody to wake up and help.

When I worked full-time, I tried to clean a little every day and for some odd reason, Thursday night was my night to clean bathrooms, etc. I guess the ole' weekend cleaning thing was still engrained in me and I wanted to clean before the weekend. :lol:lol

Just relaxing, doing projects, and hanging out with family. We have church Sunday morning and used go out for lunch afterwards (until Covid). I don't cook dinner on Sundays. It is every man for himself. I have popcorn almost every week.

Then again, I am home all week as I don't work outside the home. So I clean, etc. on other days.

Saturdays have been for scrapping for me for at least 5 years now. That's what got me back into scrapping in 2015 after a 3 year near-hiatus. I declared I would scrap every Saturday. And I have.

Saturday has also been the day I usually walk with my friend every week, though that had to change in 2019 until the pandemic, while I was working in the box office. We switched to Fridays temporarily.

Saturdays were my grocery shopping day for a while when the kids were young; I'd go right after walking with my friend. Then my shopping day changed for various reasons over the years. During the pandemic I started shopping Wednesdays mornings at 7 a.m. I wish I still could! I miss that so much. But since August 5, for my new school job, I've had to be at work at 8:20 am Monday through Friday, so I'm back to grocery shopping after walking with my friend. I'm considering sacrificing Sunday, the only day left I can stay home, to go grocery shopping at 7 a.m. I'd still have most of Sunday home. But the last four Sundays I've endured the shopping crowds ok. A couple of times we walked so close to my grocery store, I still got in somewhat early in the morning, especially because in the heat of the summer we start our walks an hour earlier, at 7:00.

Sundays were for the USPS from last October until the end of July. I'm SOOOOOOOOOOO grateful that's over!!!! Now the only thing I always do on Sunday (since 2017) is watch Eamon & Bec on YouTube. And last March, they introduced us to Tyler & Todd, and recently I also started watching Vanwives too. All three channels publish every Sunday, and I love them. They're the only channels I always watch on the day they publish, every episode.

Oh! I forgot one more thing, because it's a new routine. I haven't had a regular day to do laundry . . . probably ever. But since I started working at the school I seem to be forming a habit of doing my laundry after getting home from grocery shopping on Saturdays. I would be fine with doing it on Sundays, though, if our walk takes us far away for a lot of Saturday.

And of course I usually check in at TLP both Saturday and Sunday, but I do that pretty much every day!

Saturdays are cleaning day for me...well, really just about half the day. And we typically go out to dinner on Saturday evening. We also try to pick up groceries then as well, so that I can relax on Sundays. In the summer, Saturdays are more relaxing because I have other times during the week to get things done. When my kids were in sports (baseball, basketball, football, soccer), our Saturdays were spent running here and there. At one point, when the older two were younger, we had baseball, basketball, and soccer all going on at the same time. Whew. It exhausts me to think about now!

We have soccer Saturdays and they’re not my favorite haha

our Sunday theme is and has always been Family Sunday. Even when Melissa was small and we still lived in California, we would go to Mass with my parents, then pile in the car and drive down to Laguna Beach to a little cafe "Madison Garden and Cafe", visit with the owner Jon and his partner Andre, and then drive home the coast, circle the Dana Point harbor, then drive home.

Now that my parents are gone and we live in Las Vegas, we have Family Game night with my FIL and SIL. We go to noon Mass, get brunch, then sit around and laugh and play 31, or Farkle, or Bingo until it's time to go home.

I LIVE for Sundays sometimes.

Saturday are either a family activity or a lazy day at home. Sundays are homework, work that didn't get done during the week, etc. I work short days and get home by 2:30, so I try to get errands and housework done during the week.

In summer Sunday is beach day. (Or rather beach morning,) then a long snooze for my hubby, and cooking programs on tv for me. After that in Covid times, perhaps a take away, or a leftover from the day before (like lasagne,or pie ) in the old days often we would go out either to eat or for a dessert .
In winter the beach is replaced with walks or telly in the morning.

I prefer to have Lazy Saturdays & Productive Sundays. I like being able to decompress after a long week of work/school (and, ideally, not get dressed at all or not until afternoon). Since we have to get dressed & leave the house for church on Sundays, anyways, then I might as well run errands that day, too, and do chores/clean/cook/prep for the coming week.

We don't do anything most of the time on the weekends. I love to just be able to have no obligations and chill out as much as possible. Because of the size of our families, though, we often have something to do (birthday dinners or visiting with family) and that will sometimes happen on the weekend.

As far as laundry, I try to keep up with it but sometimes it gets the better of me and I end up having to work on it during the weekend. Cleaning I end up doing when I have the energy and I feel good. Groceries I am still ordering online and then Olivia will go pick up. The last couple of weeks Jay has picked up the groceries himself and that's usually on a weekday.

Saturdays are usually for yard work, cleaning and catching up on projects I can't get to during the week. Most weekends we'll have someone over for dinner.

Sundays are for rest. We go to church, come home and pretty much every naps or reads for at least an hour and then we really just try to relax the rest of the day...usually means doing a puzzle, maybe hanging out with friends, going to the park to skate, playing outside, going for walks, etc...

My Saturday is normally the day we go and do our food shopping, and give the house a good clean. Sundays are lazy days which may include pottering around in the garden, reading a book, watching tv / movie or just sitting and enjoying the sun outside if its a nice day.
