Biggest scare: our private expensive international school lost our child for 5 hours

Wow. I can't imagine what you were going through and I'm so thankful that he is okay. Sounds like time for some new safety procedures for sure!

that is HORRIFYING! So glad he is safe and sound with you... See- one more reason I consider wrapping my boys in bubble wrap and keeping them in my pocket. (cuz that'd be a good life for them, right? I mean, I wouldn't be worried...)

I just can't imagine how terrifying that must have been! And the fury that should follow - I would be doing rather a lot of yelling I think....

Glad Tom is ok now. I guess the issues come as to whether he can cope with hopping back on the bus again without worrying that he will be forgotten again. Good luck with the school today xx

I'm so glad that he's okay. I cannot imagine what you both went through today.

I imagine tomorrow you'll cause them to re-evaluate everything and draft a better safety procedure. Don't hold back in your meeting! You'll be helping to keep ALL the kids safer!

OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!! I am so sorry this happened. I would be on a war path as well! You go get them, girl! I don't know how they can miss a child on a bus!!! Don't they have to go through it one more time to be sure. I bet someone gets fired over this & it would be a good thing. Glad you son is okay!!! HUGS!

Cecilia, that is just BEYOND WORDS AWFUL. I am so horrified that happened but so very, very glad he is OK. Take no prisoners tomorrow, Mama. They deserve whatever you inflict on them!!

I am gonna keep an eye on the newsfeed of Shanghai tomorrow! Hurricane Momma hits with vengeance!!

Oh my goodness....I have no words. So glad your baby is okay! Have no mercy mama...they should realize how serious this is. Whether he is okay or not physically... I cannot even imagine how scary that was for a little one..who had no control. :(

I am speechless! If the kid should be @ school, and obviously he wasn't, shouldn't they call you? We are supposed to call school if baby miss a day! If not, school call parents if they miss a day, or send a text or somehing...public school do that, not very expensive school..There are so many things that a school should do! They're..oh I don't know a good word in english to describe them! And they should not blame ONLY the bus driver, they're responsible as well! They had your precios kid and they lost it, they didn't call you, unbelievable.

In these days it's so difficult keep children safe.. And people in charge should be less clueless! The day after yesterday here in Italy there were 2 little kids missing for 4 hours, parents scared as hell, made interview in TV to say pls find them...and then a family friend showed up with the kids, saying " oh I took them to the sea this afternoon. Maybe did I forget to tell the parents?". There already was police involved and everything, YES you should ask parents permission, even if you're a family member, you fool! I was so shocked, and I don't have any child (only my nephew)

I can't imagine the scary of those parents (and yours).

Let me know what measure the school will apply to never loose any other kid.

I'm so happy and grateful that your kid is OK, a big hug!

Oh Celia I am SO SORRY, this is just unbelievable and absolutely terrifying! So grateful he is ok, but seriously... I'm feeling angry for you. Just awful!

I'm wondering how he did on the bus today. I sure hope that he puts this behind him quickly. I didn't realize he was buckled in, so that he couldn't get out himself. How awful for the poor little dear.

I am fighting back the tears as I read this. What a terrible, horrible, terrifying thing to have to endure. I am so glad your little one is okay.

Whaaaat? That is absolutely outrageous! I cannot believe this could happen, and I am just so, so, so glad he is okay!!!

i don't even know where to begin to process this. there are no words that are sufficient.
i can't imagine any good reason why they would not have called you first thing in the morning when your son didn't show up to class... our school would be calling within an hour if there was no call from the parent saying he would be absent for the day, and it's a free public school. i would say they need to seriously examine their safety controls and evaluate their effectiveness.
I'm SO glad your son was found and that he is safe. While it's definitely not a great scenario, it definitely had the best possible ending. *sigh of relief*

I completely would have flipped my lid! I would have gone CRAZY on everyone!!!!

I am glad he is ok. My heart just breaks for him and what he (and you) went through.

I have been thinking about you & your situation a lot! Hope the meeting went well too. I suspect this will never happen again to your family or any others. Someones in big trouble.
