Best pen/markers for writing on photos

Since I was so far behind for April and May, I took the plunge and just ordered prints to slide into pockets for those months. Does anyone have suggestions for the best pen or marker to write on photos? I like to add some journal in right on the photo, but haven't been super happy with the marker I have.

I like the slick writer pens (i have tons of colors but almost only use black) for writing on photos - matte and glossy. (unless writing on photo-coated card stock like the matte presentation paper - because it will suck the ink out of them like a desert!)
