Hi everyone,

Finally decided to take the plunge into pocket scrapping and will be doing a Project Life for this year (yes, finally figured that part out in April! :giggle). I am doing a more laidback version where I just put whatever photos I happen to take into pockets, and arrange them by event or by month or whatever. I'm looking for a list of basic supplies, like everyday moment/family type journal cards, coordinating washi tape, and other must-haves. Any recommendations to a newbie pocket scrapper? The options are so overwhelming! :dizzy

Thanks!
Ina

I also love the splendid Fiins Evidence date Stamps. https://the-lilypad.com/store/evidence-date-stamps.html

I use mine for almost every layout and all my PL pages .

Hope that helps :)

I absolutely agree about the storyteller... it's a great foundation and has pretty much everything the dedicated pocket scrapper needs, every month in a delicious color palette!

My most used stuff for Project Life:

But there's TONS more, to be honest...

Oooh, welcome to the Project Life world! I started last year and failed, only made it to week 5. This year I'm going strong and just loving it!! To keep myself going, I use the same stuff each week (template, background paper, calendar card) and then supplement with a different kit each week for fillers.

I don't know if you are using "real" pockets or not, but I love these templates! (I use this template pack each week)

Love, love these calendar cards!

I am keeping my pages super simple this year with very little embellishment, but next year I might jazz them up. Valorie's pocket fillers are perfect for that!

Liz has some gorgeous journaling cards as well - too many packs to put here, but I really love this set!

And of course my girl Peppermint has a ton of perfect journaling cards that can be used for any occasion, as well as some great 3x4 calendar cards that I use on my pages as well.

I haven't bought anything different just for pocket scrapping, tbh. If whatever kit I want to use doesn't have cards, I can clip a paper to a rectangle myself and throw some word art on it. Not that I don't super love some of the cards out there, don't get me wrong! I just haven't gone out of my way for a special pocket stash. I use the same kind of products that I already use in my other scrapping.

Yep. Ditto. I even use regular templates for my pages if I feel like it :)

That said, I do love some good word art and these are fun for adding those little touches:

These are fun, and awesome peeks into life:

And I like these to draw attention to my journaling, or photos:

But anything is bound to make it onto my pages. :giggle

You've come to the right place. TLP is so full of pocket yumminess to fit every style of scrapper. The designers here are so talented and you can totally find something that meets your style. There are clean and simple designers here, doodley and whimsical designers, mixed media designers, and handmade/paper piecing designers... and some that do it all.

I recommend looking through the store and finding the designers that fit your niche/style... browse through the Project Life gallery and be inspired by the community here, there are so many different styles in the community too. Also, browse through the project forum here, we have our pages posted in monthly threads and you will be totally inspired.

Take a look at the threads that Jen linked to also... though, you'll find that we all have different tastes and styles and so I also just recommend to buy what you like, what speaks to you and what makes you happy.

Lastly, there is a journal card category in the store and in many of the designer's stores that you can click on. Have fun!!!

Wow, that's a lot of great stuff! Thanks everyone! I decided on physical pockets, and my album and page protectors arrived, and the 12x12 size is huge! It's going to take some getting used to. I also ended up ordering a paper (gasp!) kit that was Project Life related.

I'm probably going to do a mix of paper and digi though, can't be without my digi! Thank you for the specific recommendations, I have my eye on many of them :beat and some of them I already have! :yesss
