My dh is in Columbus for training, my teenagers are with their dad, and I'm leaving momentarily for Cincinnati for the marathon. Last night I realized .... what about the dog?

So my poor pooch...

She's never been boarded, AND she's a rescue, so she was in the pound at one point.

I only ever take her in the car when we go running. But today I took her in the car to the vet for a shot, and then dropped her off at the boarder. She looked at me like .....................? Momma......?

I feel awful! :cry
 
Awwww, poor puppy! It'll be alright Angie. Its just something that has to been done occassionally. Funny thing is....we don't have a pet anymore and DH is just pestering me to get another dog. But we have a cat/dog boarder right behind us. She's awesome and takes such good care of the pets that are there as if they were her own.

I'm sure your dog will be in good hands.

Most dogs after the initial guilt trip they lay on you, have their own vacation visiting and making new doggy friends. Don't be so hard on yourself!
 
I know how you feel! I hate leaving our puppy behind. I'm as attached to him as he is to me I think.

I bet she has a great time with the other dogs! She'll be fine. Let go of the mommy guilt. :)
 
I didn't like the first time I boarded my dog either. But he still loved me when I picked him up!
