Backpacks | Pad Patter 8.4.23

I'm glad you get a lot of use out of backpacks. Taking first aid supplies while hiking is always a good idea; I feel like I need to start packing them to sporting events too!
I think it's one of those things that feel like overkill... unless you need them, and then they feel like a great idea!

When’s the last time you used a backpack?
Long time- maybe when kids were babies and I used one for a diaper bag

How often did you get a new backpack for school when you were growing up?
Maybe every 2 years or so. We wouldn't get a new one unless our old one was broken or not useful.

Do you have a favorite place to buy backpacks?
I love the pottery barn backpacks. They aren't any more expensive than other places and they are very well made and lastmy kids at least 2 years of school- even my son who tends to destroy his supplies much faster than my daughter.
I used a backpack for a diaper bag too!

I’ll have to check out pottery barn; thanks for the rec!

When’s the last time you used a backpack? I use one when I travel as my car or carryon. The one I have now I bought in early 2020 for a 2020 Disneyland trip (that never happened becauseCovid). haha

How often did you get a new backpack for school when you were growing up? I don't remember. I don't even remember having one, though I'm sure I did. My kids on the other hand got a new one every fall until middle school. Then we bought the more expensive versions and they used them until they fell apart. My daughter is a junior this year and has had hers since 9th grade. My son is a sophomore in college and has used his since like the 10th grade. He did win a free one at college last year that's pretty nice. But he doesn't use it.

Do you have a favorite place to buy backpacks? Pottery Barn Kids & Teen were always my favorite when the kids were little. Now they shop for them at like Dicks or Academy because they buy Adidas or Nike
