Welcome to the Exciting November ArtChallenge!

Your enthusiastic host for this artsy adventure is none other than me, Nicole the Designer! ✨

Let’s dive into a world of creativity and fun! I'm super thrilled to share this month's challenge style and technique with you all. To kick things off, check out the two vibrant layouts I've crafted when you scroll down.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to use artistry blends from my shop, or feel free to dive into your personal collection. Or hey, why not scroll down and pick the adorable friends Hedwig, Lucy, Nelli, or Pamuk for your layout?

Here's how to create magic with this style:

1. Start your canvas. Fancy a different size than 12x12"? Go for it!
2. Grab a transparent image.
3. With the polygonal lasso tool or the pen tool, create cut-out shapes around your image. Layer these shapes and bring out the details with different colors.
4. Time to color! Bold colors are fantastic here, but you can also clip solid papers for a unique touch.
5. Now, let’s decorate! Add flowers, leaves, artsy bits, or magic lights... Unleash your creativity and make the artwork uniquely yours. Think of it as crafting a vibrant collage.
6. For the background, choose any solid paper, add a color, and maybe overlay it with a "Noise" filter. Feeling adventurous? Opt for a busy paper!
7.Happy with your masterpiece? Consider printing, framing, and either hanging it on your wall or gifting it to someone special.
8. Share your layout in the NBK-Design Gallery and this forum. Don’t forget to link your layout to the gallery!

Let’s make November a month to remember with our incredible creations! Ready, set, create! ✨

Risograph, commonly referred to as Riso, is a unique printing technique rather than a painting style. Originating from Japan in the 1980s, it’s known for its distinctive aesthetic and eco-friendly process.
**Key Characteristics:**
1. **Layered Colors**:
Risograph prints are made one color at a time with soy-based inks. Each color is applied in layers, often leading to slight misalignments that contribute to the technique's charm.
2. **Limited Color Palette**: Riso uses a limited palette, typically including primary colors and a few others like fluorescent pink. This restriction encourages creative use of halftones to add depth.
3. **Texture and Graininess**: Riso prints have a textured, grainy appearance due to the soy-based inks and the stencil-based printing. This adds a hand-made feel to the prints.
4. **Graphic, Bold Style**: The prints are typically graphic and bold, with artists embracing the medium’s constraints to create eye-catching works.
5. **DIY and Independent Culture**: Riso is closely linked to DIY and indie publishing, often used for zines, posters, and independent projects.
In essence, Risograph printing is celebrated for its unique look, environmental benefits, and suitability for small, creative projects. Its constraints inspire a blend of ingenuity and artistic expression, resulting in visually striking, tactile works.

This looks like a fun way to spend the weekend, thanks for the adorable starter pack. It'll be hard to choose between them.

This is so much fun! Thank you for all the info, the inspiration and the freebie. I can't wait to play!

Looks fantastic! Thanks for the freebie. Now I just hope I can figure out how to do this in my old PSE.

Just start a new layer and if you not want to use the tools I’ve described you also can use the pension tool and paint the shape. It needs not to be exactly if it’s bit uneven you get this look as well.

Thanks! If I can't do like you describe, I'll find a way to work around it.

So many beautiful artworks we have here already
