I've got a lightroom folder with this year's Xmas pics that I can quickly load for a scrap page. I will use other photos too but I'd like to get some holiday pics done for sure.

I am going to tag some basic supplies so I have a small assortment to access quickly when needed. Sometimes I spend an awful lot of time just looking thru my stash for something so doing a bit of tagging ahead of time will help when I'm a bit rushed for time. I know I want to tag some thread, hearts, sequins, frames, arrows, journal tags. I'll go thru some of my kits to see what other essentials I want to tag.

What about you? Getting any prep work done ahead of time?

I already have my photos pulled into a 'To Be Scrapped' folder on my EHD (I use that year-round) but last night I went through and gathered all my TLP kits into a MOC folder on my hard drive & poked around the store for any goodies I might want to buy after I get paid in 2 weeks.

I'm as ready as I'll ever be, I think. :)

I made sure my TLP folder had only current designers in it and everything is sorted the way I like it. That's about the extent of the prep I'll do :)

I need to unzip and tag a bunch of kits I've bought over the past couple of months!! I also want to get my recent photos imported into Lightroom and fixed ahead of time.

It's hard to believe it starts in four days....woohoo! I don't know that I will get them all done b/c my work schedule is busier than it used to be but it sure will be fun to play as much as I can! It really helps to have the whole month to get them all done.

I'm glad I'll be taking some time to tag a few things b/c it's something I've been meaning to do for a long time and never seem to get around to it.

I am trying to be prepared a little. Last night I scanned some photos I may use. I also started a folder and placed some current kits I bought into it ready to hopefully use.

Winging it with determination!

This is so me... hehe!

I don't see a point in trying to prep too much because I won't know what I want to scrap until I see the challenge for the day. Even then, I'll go back and forth on what I want to do. I do that with everything in my life. I'm indecisive and I'm ok with that. It's just who I am, so I'm just going to go with it. I think the best way for me to prep would be to prepare my family for me not wanting to do anything but scrap. I should probably do a BIG grocery shopping trip this weekend and make sure the freezer is full and the pantry is stocked with lots of easy things for them to fend for themselves on during MOC.

My big challenge during MOC is knowing what photos and stories to scrap. In the 2.5 days I have left, I'm going to go through my Lightroom catalog and create a collection of photos to scrap.

This is also the time of year I get the biggest bang for my keywording buck. I keyword all my supply previews throughout the year, including a keyword for "active in store" and its opposite, "retired". So I'll just set up a Quick Collection in Lightroom for all my supplies tagged with "TLP" and "active in store" and I know what I can choose from for MOC. Easy peasy!

Since my first layout last year ended up being a non-usable one because one of the kits I used wasn't in the store - and because I went on to finish I think maybe one challenge - you'd sure think I'd prepare in advance BUT NOOOO there are too many other things that are way too much fun so it'll be another attempt at MOC while totally winging it!

Brilliant. Just brilliant.

I cleaned out my downloads folder so it was pretty! :cheer

Then I bought more kits, so it's not pretty anymore.....:banghead

On the serious note, I've been keywording and giving 3 stars to the photos I really want to scrap anyway this year, and been working on the backlog. So, I feel like those are in a good position for MOC.
I've given up mostly on supply organization. I have a shopping problem, and that makes organization of supplies difficult. In fact, there's another sale this weekend I need to check out - and then I'll know the kits are active in the store right? :dancebun

I've been though my stash and tagged stuff that's still on sale at TLP, I have so many kits I didn't want to accidentally make the perfect layout only to find there's not enough TLP in it.
I've found my notebook pages for our 2000 touring Holiday with my hubby's photo album. He scanned them in a few years ago. I made a start on the pages but have a lot left to do, might do them for MOC, but I'm also over 5 years behind on family life scrapbooking. Do I start with the now and move backwards with my catch-up, or start where I stopped and move forwards? what do you think?

I have a boatloadm of kits.. lol had to buy today too! LOL re photos etc... I too like Jenn @jk703 am winging it. That is what keeps the creativity going for me! :)

Oh wow, prep work.. good thinking! So photos, kits, PS actions, shadow styles, stories to scrapbook about...

Do I start with the now and move backwards with my catch-up, or start where I stopped and move forwards?
I start now. Because I'm usually most excited about now. The story is fresh, the photos are new (and better! Because I've improved!). I have been working on older photos as they for my mood, but I definitely started now, and moved backward.
You should totally make this a new thread to ask everyone!
