I forgot about April Fools Day yesterday, until we got to a family Easter party and my SIL had the kids do an Easter Egg Hunt. Thing is that she hadn't hidden any eggs... hehe! Those kids were troopers though, they looked all over the yard for about 10 minutes before they came back saying they couldn't find any. Then, my hubby says I'll help you find some. He goes out and does the hot and cold game with them. Telling them they are getting hotter. No, now you're getting colder. No, hotter, no colder. They were going back and forth and in circles following his directions for awhile before they finally figured out it was all a BIG April Fools joke.... LOL!

So how about you? Did you play an April fools joke on anyone? Or did someone play one on you?

My son took all the fruit and bread from the kitchen and hid it in his room, leaving a note behind in the fruit bowl. LOL

The funniest joke I saw from a business was the email from CreativeLIVE yesterday announcing a new class, "Photobombing." The class description and the about-the-teacher were hilarious.

:rollin

The fake egg hunt must have been hilarious @keepscrappin - our little guy takes his egg hunts very seriously so he would have been very unhappy. LOL

I totally forgot about it being April Fool's Day, probably because Easter fell on the first this year. My mom's birthday was on April 1st, so we had a lot of fun with her for many years.

Cheryl @gonewiththewind did the same thing. It was hilarious!

We didn't pull any jokes. We're just boring.

I just got another April Fools joke played on me. I was on Facebook and saw that one of my friends was engaged, but the guy looked kinda scary. After texting her, I found out it was just an April Fools joke with a guy that she worked on a project with... phew... I was thinking oh no she's just gone through a divorce and doesn't need another marriage this fast. BOY did she get me good! :giggle

I didn't do anything this year, I'll never be able to top what I did back in 2009...I printed off divorce papers, filled them out gave them to Garry. He can laugh about it now, but he wasn't amused at the time.

oh dear! That would be a hard one to swallow! Glad he can laugh about it now. I'd be a wreck if my hubby played a joke like that on me.

Looking back I wouldn't have done it...understandably he VERY hurt and it is something I do regret.

A friend of mine did the no hidden eggs thing, too. It was hilarious.
My oldest and his gf brought over these gorgeous "cake balls" for us to have after dinner. They gave them to the 2 girls, my 12 year old, and me. They turned out to be chocolate covered Brussels sprouts! DS immediately spit his out, but the girls ate the whole thing LOL They thought it was good! I saved one for DD to try when she came over. She bit into it and said "ewww what is that? Is that a Brussels sprout?". It was pretty funny! I hated to throw them away because they were so pretty...on the outside!

For many years when my son was a teen, he always did pranks. He rearranged furniture, he turned all my spices upside down, he coated his dad's soap with clear fingernail polish! When he was getting his master's degree, he called me to tell me that he was dropping out and I believed him even though it was April Fool's Day!

Yesterday I drove by Chik-Fil-A and saw signs that said "now open Sundays", but I quickly remembered what day it was!

April fools, and practical jokes in general, are something I struggle with being autistic. It just all feels so wrong. My 2 neuro-typical children have just had to learn that mummy and their brother won't find that even remotely funny and just might be offended instead.

We did the same trick on our boys with the Easter egg hunt and then didn't hide any. They figured it out WAY too fast though and then while they were hunting the backyard, their Dad was trying to hide the eggs fast in the front yard. They caught him in the act and it made for a SUPER fast egg hunt. Lol! They thought it was funny that they busted Dad. :giggle

:giggle OH! You know I love a good laugh! We did an egg hunt but did things like hide lint, used tissues, paper clips, pieces of ham and hair from the brush in the eggs! You should have seen the little faces when they spread out the eggs and started opening them only to find the gross fest! Then at the end of the night- I frosted a cereal box and had my mom help me "cut" the dessert! She was priceless trying to figure out what the heck was wrong with that cake until all the grandkids yelled- APRIL FOOL! :bunny

Oh those are good ones Renne! Lol! I saw on Gina Miller's FB that she hid all kinds of things in her eggs too... like broccoli. Lol! Too funny! Wish I'd have thought of that too!

And before you feel bad for them, they were assigned colors this year, so they could only get their color eggs. They each had twelve. Inside the twelve eggs, each one of them got $17. If they found their twelve eggs first, they won an additional cash egg of $7. And there was a big prize egg, and it had a $20 bill in it. There was chocolate scattered in as well.

It was funny seeing them taunt one another, "I know where your last purple egg is!"
