Hiya fellow readers... I hope I am not stepping on Crystal's toes, but I wanted to give us a few days of voting before April, so I'm going to go ahead and start a poll to pick next month's book. :) Plus, I need to know what to read next! :)

Here are the books from the April Nominations:

A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara
Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro
California by Edan Lepucki
Disclaimer by Renée Knight
The Road by Cormac McCarthy
Saving Amelie by Cathy Gohlke
Can you Keep a Secret
Spoon River Anthology
Deep End of the Ocean by Jacquelyn Mitchard
Let's Pretend This Never Happened by Jenny Larson
Furiously Happy
Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children
The Circle by Dave Eggers
the Light of the Fireflies

So, I could only do 10 choices for the poll. I decided to take off a Little Life because Farrah is already reading it for another book club and because it's so long. Then I just listed then next 10 choices. We'll have to renominate the others for another month I guess.

I'm so sorry I dropped the ball! I was so sick with a migraine for about 8 days and then a stomach bug :( Two of the kids spent Easter with friends so as not to be completely lame around here :( I really appreciate you getting this up!!!!

i'll come back and vote later after back to school and 'monday on a tuesday' stuff
(i started miss peregrin after the chatter in the last thread - put the big girl pants on and it's been quite good, i'm about half way thru - it's not too full of prose and over the top description which helps, for me anyway)
(i read the 'never let me' go book the other week and aparently there's a movie with keira knightly from a few years ago of it - but it's not on netflix here - the book was written more like the Lake House - prim and proper sounding English text, but less confusing plot-wise, if that sways anyone)

Oh @crystalbella77 I'm so sorry to hear about your poor head and tummy. To dark rooms and quiet bellies.
Crystal <~~~~ to feeling good.
Thank you both so much! I really appreciate it! I am down with a head cold now so I am guessing that is part of the migraine coming on so strong?! I just don't know...but I am hoping to be myself and feeling better very soon!

I'm so sorry you've been sick, @crystalbella77 :( We had a stomach bug roar through here a few weeks ago. For you to have it during a holiday is especially NOT fun. But at least the kids got out of the house a bit. I hope that gave you a bit of a break, too.

On another note: So... I'm upset. I got A Little Life from my digital library, and I was so excited to read it. Then, we got sick one after another and I didn't read anything for a few weeks. On Friday I opened my Kindle, realized I'd never downloaded "Life" ... and it had expired the day before so I couldn't download it to read! :banghead So I just bought it from Amazon. With Prime shipping I should get it Weds, cuz I really want to read it and I want to talk about it in the thread Farrah has started. DH was like "You know, we joined the library so we wouldn't have to buy so many books..." and I said "If you complain about ONE book, then I'm gonna fill my cart with each and every book on my wish list right now!" He was quiet after that! :eg9

Anyway, I voted for Peregrin's. I already own it so I don't have to worry about borrowing it from the library lol!

Oh! I'm so pleased to see my Spoon River is in second place! But I went ahead and placed a hold on Peregrine, because it looks like that will probably be the winner. I'm #15 on wait list and there are 12 copies. If everyone returns their books on time, I might be able to get it before the end of the month.

You do know that

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children is a Young Adult fiction. ?

I voted for California....but put in a request at my library for Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. LOL!

I'm scared to read this book so you all better not lead me astray! ;)

I will attempt to start AND finish a book this month. I have Miss Peregrine book on hold right now. There's 2 people in front of me so it's a good chance I'll get it :)

My book came yesterday and today I finally started to read it. My 13 year old daughter wants to read it to so I am reading it out loud for the both of to enjoy. Read first chapter and both of us are enjoying so far.

I totally failed March's book. I'm still on like the 2nd chapter. I just couldn't get into it at all. I'm gonna give it to my mom as part of her Mother's Day gift lol.

I am still waiting for it in my que as well as the January and February books. One day I will read with you all.

I got the book initially just for the photos, so creepy and evocative, luckily it was well written as well, really enjoyed it, must get hold of the next one. Will be interesting to see the movie adaptation.
