I just found out about this site: http://www.kiva.org/about
"Kiva is the world's first person-to-person micro-lending website, empowering individuals to lend to unique entrepreneurs around the globe." So basically you give money, any amount from $25 upwards, to someone from a less fortunate country who is trying to start their own small business. As their business grows, over the following 6 to 12 months, they repay what you gave them, then you lend it to someone else.
Isn't that just the most fabulous idea?
Tonight as a family, we are going to sit down and decide who will get our first donation.
