I went to the dr. yesterday for pain meds for my back and hip. Nothing new there, but I always have my blood pressure checked because I have high blood pressure and take meds for it. It was 151/111 when she first checked it.:thumbsdowns So, I saw the dr. and he wanted it rechecked and it was 152/112. Needless to say, I was freaked out. I had to take Clonidine to try and relax so that it would come down. Guess what happened...it went UP! It was at 167/115. :dizzyYep, I was completely freaked out then. They said it could be caused by the fact I was in terrible pain or the fact that I have been under a lot of stress in my personal life.:hissy I was scared to see how I felt today. I got out of bed, but I do feel some better. I go back this morning to have it rechecked. I am praying it is DOWN.

Yep, I do. I was able to stop my meds once I lost most of my excess weight, but even still it's borderline. Not enough for them to medicate me, but high enough that they wrinkle their nose when they take it. I hover around 140/90.

I blame the kids, because I was always 110/70 before. :giggle

bwhahaha Angie!!! I never had any problems until my horrible pregnancy with Gavin. guess I can blame the kids, too. LOL! I am eating better and trying to walk more, but with the chronic back and hip pain it is hard. good to know I am not the only one that says it is kid related...well, I blame my hubby, too...LOL!

I got eclampsia with my first - it got to 170 over 110 - Yikes! Ever since then I can get some major White Coat Syndrome. But if I can stay relaxed, my BP is normal. But BP under stress can be crazy, i know!

I had "pregnancy-induced hypertension" with my last one. When I was in labor it was like 210/110 or something. They were quite frazzled about it.

And the magnesium was sure nice. Labor wasn't bad enough til they gave me that.

I had some version of toxemia/pre-eclampsia/eclampsia with all 4 of my pregnancies. I had to have the mag. sulfate for delivery of #3... caused my blood pressure to bottom out after my epidural, nearly killed us both. Anyway - following the fourth delivery, my blood pressure never went back to normal. I'm medicated (when I remember to take it). I hate taking pills. The post-partum depression after #4 kicked my butt too - should still be taking meds and my little guy turns 4 in a few weeks. I'd probably function better if I took my meds on a regular schedule and stuck to it.
