Anyone else have a SOCK MONSTER living at their house?!

Seriously! Seriously? SERIOUSLY!?!!?!?!?!

Its never an issue during the summer as we are all flip flops or keens peeps around here but its THIS time of year i DREAD!!!! I have 4 million pairs of SINGLE socks! What do you do to solve this problem! I am almost to the point of throwing out every.single.stinkin sock out in the trash and buying all new all white socks! :helpy How do you keep your sock SOUL mates together?:peekin
 
I don't. Someone steals them and they are lonely. Seriously. I have no idea what happens, but inevitably my cute socks lose their partners over time and it's sad sad sad.
 
We have plenty of sock monsters in our house - I actually like this time of year, because the kids wear tights - the sock monster doesn't seem to like them.. I have stopped buying fancy socks for the kids, I buy packs that have like 5 pairs that are all the same. That way, if some go missing I can always pair them up with some other ones.

Our sock monster seems to follow the kids around when they go out though, in the summer they always have socks on when they go to school and daycare, but they rarely have them when I go to pick them up.
 
yep we have one to and my eldest lad insists on taking his socks off in the lounge so i find them everywhere why he takes them off downstairs i just dont know
 
Not sure, really. People at my house usually buy loads of the same socks, so we never really know if there's one missing, LOL!
 
Yes, that's the solution, I always say that our wash machine loves socks...espc. mine:(
But it's possible that I wear two different socks, because I'm too lazy to search matching ones:giggle and it looks funny, because I haven't so many white or black ones*lol*
 
We are bad with socks. I have seriously considered buy the kids a couple packs of socks, giving some to each child and giving up responsibility.
 
oh we definitely have a sock monster at our house too. I have no real advice since I just keep the strays after laundry day in a small basket by the dryer and every couple of weeks will go through and match what I can. I probably ought to throw away the ones that STILL after many many months have no mates, but where is the fun in that? :)

When Nicholas was a toddler and had all sorts of matchy socks (Gymboree anyone?) I used to use them and I never lost a sock after that. You just make sure they're together every time you throw the socks into a hamper. But now that he's older, I just buy him plain white ankle socks so I never really notice if any go missing.
 
I have this same problem Shanna and what gets me is that my socks aren't just white ones. LOL
 
LOL My DD's will wear mitch match socks all the time unless my DH or I call them out on it. They are so lazy about matching them up in their drawer. It drives me bananas.

this is the mystery of the ages. i swear my family is even good about putting their dirty socks into the hamper. very curious, it is. :think those clippy things are really cool, peppermint.
 
Well girls, I'm here to tell you that the sock monster really does exist... apparently that's the whole reason my washing machine was broken... it litterally ate a sock. I'm so glad I wasn't here when the repair man pulled it out of the dryer to show my MIL.... the sock was all torn and ripped. So people, sock monsters do exist!
 
Our sock monster likes to attack my socks. Hubby has a nice full drawer of matched socks. I have so many singles I should start a dating service.

yes you should. i have a really lovely pink and white stripped sock available right now. she loves children and wouldn't mind being washed on delicate every now and again.
